We need more cars like this including production cars, purpose built machines that aren't designed to wow you for 5 minutes, instead they're designed to do what they do best for the next 10 years, with bodies that're easy to build and an interior that you can actually use with tactile feedback.
With used Hondas its always the mechanicals that are worrisome, not because of quality but the type of people that drive them.

The way that I see it, when you get the STi you get a buffed up Imprezza, when you get an S4 you're getting a fancied up Passat (and probably a detuned motor).
I recall reading about a guy with a lightly modded Crown Vic, his friends stock 2000 Civic stayed side by side at the drag strips, the Vic only won from its longer hood.
Those Thunderbirds got that same 4.6l V8 in other Fords, you can easily crank them up. Ford ruined their HP pretty badly to make the Mustang look better.
Next time I see a car parked ON a line, I'll call these dudes up.
Its probably in the fender so you can wash your hands between working on the engine, back in '39 you had to be good with maintenance to keep a car going.
