When in doubt, slave it out.
How does the suspension compare to the Ranger Raptor? Doesn’t the Bronco share platforms with the Ranger?
Point is it’s a major source of weight reduction in the C6 Z06 that isn’t going to be present in the current C8 model. The Z06's aluminum frame weighed 136lbs less than the steel frame of the base C6 cars.
I wouldn’t expect it to be as bad as the voodoo, especially since the fpc V8 in the C8 R seems to be performing quite well. The voodoo has a really long stroke for a fpc engine. Not good for an inherently shaky design like a fpc V8. GM’s 5.5L V8s in their racing Corvette’s have all been oversquare, and I’m guessing…
The C6 Z06 saw major weight savings because it had an aluminum frame vs the base model’s steel frame. All C8s are aluminum framed. I would not be surprised if this weighed more than the base/Z51 C8s.
There’s some electric conversions you can get which eliminates all the vacuum lines, but the pop-up assembly itself, nothing I know of. I’m sure something could be fabbed up to work with smaller bulbs and stuff but that’s more work than I want to put into it. And I like the FIA-style fixed light look :3

If this were a Lamborghini, it would be the C8 of Lamborghinis.
Might not have won Le Mans, but it did give Audi and BMW a good challenge.
The biggest reason for similar 50-70 times is the S52 cars have a 3.23 rear diff whereas the S54 cars have a taller 3.15 rear. I previously owned an S52 Roadster and currently own an S54 Coupe. Stock for stock they’re very similar up to about 4k rpm, then the S52 starts losing its breath while the S54 keeps going to…
Torq Thrust 2s: The boomer’s territorial marking.
No, I actually like the C7 for the most part. If I had the cash, a Grand Sport with a Katech 427 would be my dream C7. That doesn’t change the fact that what MB/AMG did with the AMG GT was smart. I use that car as a comparison because it’s comparable to the C7. The Ferrari 812 Superfast has a 47/53 F/R balance as…
Uh, no it’s not. Mid-engine cars typically have a rear weight bias. Typically 45/55 F/R to 40/60 F/R.
Needs to stay FWD, though.
Definitely. And make it somehow get the weight distribution back to the “ideal” 50/50.
Great for weight reduction and pop-up headlight failures.
It may not have been mid-engined, but it still had a pretty decent rear weight bias on the small block models. 46/54 F/R bias on my ‘80 when it was stock. Not sure what it is now with all the heavy stuff I’ve taken out of it.
Nah, the C3 is where it happened, once the glassback style arrived and they added some chin to the front.
