It’s not enough to have:
The Howard degree in Africana Studies...
Her copies of Essence Magazine...
Her FB updates about “12 Years A Slave”...
No. It’s, “Not only do I know your hair texture scales, I’m the kinkiest.”

I’m glad you guys have boundaries and are okay with this.
On the other hand, bullet dodged?
Ah chlamydia, the gift that keeps on giving.
This reminds me of every maternity shirt I ever wore. Hideous.
WHY CAN'T EVERYONE JUST DO THAT
I unfollowed Gabbi Gregg and Nicolette Mason on Intagram over their shilling of this shit line. The stuff is BAD.
Don't forget the condescending nature of that idea, which is that people who aren't poly are either in denial or less "evolved."
Also: the fear of retribution. She says he was living in her building, right? I was once sexually assaulted by a neighbor and didn't dare to report him because a. he was not going to get a jail sentence or anything any way and b. he would know it was me who reported him, and lived on my block.
That is EXACTLY it. On college campuses and in college towns, everyone already knows one another, making reporting doubly hard. So, when I was raped, I didn't report. I only started telling people three years later because it took that long to realize that it wasn't my fucking fault. Rape culture is disgusting.
Everyone processes tragedy differently. You have no idea what she was feeling at the time. Ugh I cannot with Madonna, but I have to defend her on this. You seem to have an idealized idea of what reporting a rape is like, especially in the 1970s in New York.
When I was sexually assaulted as an eleven-year-old, I told my parents. I did the right thing, we went to the police. Even had a friend who was assaulted by the same person. The cops did nothing, no charges were filed, even though that friend was willing to back me up. So when I was raped when I was older, I didn't…
"You've already been violated. It's just not worth it. It's too much humiliation."
I watched the episode, she inherited it
"He calls me his flower," Sarah says. "He asks 'has she been watered today?'"
She probably also thinks that goddamned dress is White and Gold.
Just posted same on Gawker, as a fellow Graves sufferer, the disease is evil. They can manage it now- so you don't die but your just, .... crappy. Tired -super tired- and blah. Special bonus: depression, anxiety, insomnia. Super special bonus: you get fat and symptoms of arthritis. Basically, average auto immune crap…
Her weight loss is because she's been dealing with Graves Disease, that shit is no joke.
Ok, so I didn't watch it live and am only drawing my opinion from watching the brief clip above, but, while Missy Elliott is rocking it like a boss on the stage, Katy Perry totally looks like a small town high school cheerleader who won a contest to be on stage with her.
Missy didn't steal the show. She owned it.
