How am I a poseur or how am I jumping on the band wagon? Come on, tell me how you got that from my comments? You outright stated, in your first comment, that anybody who started with VII has no rightful opinion on the series. That is completely false, in more ways then I can count. It doesn't matter which you start

Ah yes, but it isn't a horrible waste of my time, because thankfully you don't decide how my time is taken up

Drippy is awesome.

I actually love games with long sections where you can't save, because when I finally reach the next save point I feel a great sense of satisfaction.

Grinding pays off in the end. It's the satisfaction of knowing that your hard work and determination helped you beat that one boss you was stuck on. Grinding in itself may feel like a chore, but the satisfaction pays off. That, as far as I'm concerned, constitutes as 'entertainment'.

You've NEVER beaten the last dungeon of Final Fantasy III? It's not that difficult. Which bit gets you the most; Cloud of Darkness? The four bosses you have to fight before her? Or is it Xande? Or is the dungeon itself just too difficult for you?

I have to say, I was quite surprised to read that sentence.

I had no option both to start with Final Fantasy VII, I live in Europe. None of the others were released in Europe before VII. It wasn't a choice, I just couldn't get my hands on any of the earlier titles. So you're just talking out of your arse. It doesn't matter which you start with, I've played them all. That's

Don't be so obnoxious. You can start with VII and still have a solid, worthwhile opinion. I started with VII, but my opinion states that VI is the best and that the SNES was better for JRPGs than the PlayStation. So, does that mean my opinion holds no water.

I feel the same. X was the start of the decline, I just can't enjoy it no matter how much I try. Far to linear, the story is seriously overrated and the Sphere Grid was/is horrible. The battle system is good though, I'll give it that, but the game feels like a jumbled mess (don't even get me started on X-2). I-IX and

My love of Final Fantasy is strong, and Square sure have tested my resolve in recent years. But as a fan of the series I will always remain optimistic. I always buy the Final Fantasy games, but I haven't been content enough with the series for such a long time to actually buy a game brand new. I got X-XIII-2 (with the

Actually, I feel Nintendo have managed to keep their old fans happy. I've liked them for years and still love their games to this day. They have certainly 'grown' with me.

I've played the game, and I 100% completed it in 16 and a half hours. So, not as long as the 20-something it took me to do Pikmin 2, but still a lot more then the original. And it is the sort of game that you will want to play multiple times.

What about those of us who still love Japanese games?

I enjoy grinding. It has never bothered me, and it doesn't break a game as far as I'm concerned.

A person, who has never played a video game, is now weighing his 'opinion' in on the whole violent video game debate? This is like if the Pope was giving out sex advice.

I agree. I felt JRPGs have lost their characteristic Japanese charm, the charm that made the genre the best in the industry from 1990-2005 or so. Since then we've still had great JRPGs, but not as much in percentage terms.

He DID have a problem with Lucas. He has stated loads of times that he disliked working with him. He didn't dislike Star Wars, he just disliked how Lucas was on set.

Ford doesn't dislike Star Wars, he just disliked working with Lucas.

Harrison Ford doesn't hate the effect Star Wars had on his career, he just hated making the films because he didn't like how George Lucas went about things.

The difference between Tifa and Lightning though is important. Tifa was designed to be big breasted, and dress rather skimpy. It was done because they wanted her to be the complete opposite of Aeris. And the fact that she had big breasts didn't stop her kicking ass - she's one of the best fighters in the game.
