Can anyone explain to me the fascination with yellow fog lamps?

What do you think of other tricks? For example some cars have a resonater that feeds into the cabin. Not really changing the sound, but making it more audible to the driver.

And I may be a liberal lower, but I ain't broke!

This is what wide open parking lots are for. If you make that mistake and don't hit anything, no one will make fun of you.

WHAT?! Are you kidding me?! So, a group of people are crashing cars disproportionately, and the approach is to make cars that are safer for them to crash?! Ridiculous!

To #5: I strongly disagree that karting would make our roads safer. Most of the accidents we have are not because people lack the proper car control skills (although they do indeed lack them). They happen because people drive with unsafe habits, such as running lights, taking dangerous turns, tailgating, passing on

I see what you are saying, but I disagree because I don't think all of those extra operations improve control. Having a manual allows you to do things that you can't do with an automatic. Having to manually adjust a choke does not allow me to do things that I would want to do otherwise.

That totally can happen, and maybe it's more likely depending on where you frequently drive, but in my case the odds of that are low enough that I am willing to risk it, and if it does happen endure wheel damage.

Eh, the power you need to get on the expressway is irrelevant when I can carry an extra 20 mph around the ramp! If the window is that small to pass.. don't. And the FR-S will do 30-50 in 4 seconds in top gear (when you should be in third, but hey that's all C&D gave me, sixth at that speed feels anemic). I'm guessing

What are you doing on the expressway that requires a lot of power..? Have you ever driven one of these "underpowered" cars?

Eh, I'm pushing my tires many days (at low speeds) and just switched from my winter to summer tires, it's so amazingly different. Obviously that's more of a change than from non-run flat to run flat, but still. I'm not that worried about safety. Rarely do I drive somewhere were both the turn offs are that far apart

They did the same thing when the toyobarus came out, which they love. It's a stupid topic for a post, but they do it for every new car that is of interest to jalops that crashes.

I think they're so frightening because they are so unavoidable as the car that was hit. We get scared and pay more attention at intersections and when merging, but oncoming traffic is just something we have to live with.

That $500 is the most ridiculous logic I've heard in... at least a few hours. Just because others are not accounting for the hidden costs of another option does not mean that you can deduct that from the cost of your option. Whaaa?

I'm not saying that no one enjoys them, I'm just saying almost no one enjoys them for their driving experience.

Yes, I agree. But basically, my opinion is that most non-enthusiasts' cars are plenty powerful. Adding more power to a boring car doesn't do much for it. The cars my parents drive have more power than mine, but they're not fun to drive. Add another 100 hp, still not fun. My car is fun to drive. Add another 50 hp to a

I guess expectations are different when you have a more expensive car, but the trade off you are making is for convenience, not performance, so it's kind of contrary to the nature of the car. But of course, it's your money and your car! So I'm not that worried about it. ;)

A pretty reasonable trade off? Over 100,000 miles that wold cost you over 10 grand. Compared to other tires that would cost half as much and be replaced half as much.. that's a pretty big trade off.

This doesn't show the joys of driving.

See, the thing about a fun car to drive is that it is fun despite not having a massive motor. Now power is cheap, but there are plenty of powerful cars that are boring to drive.
