I mean, it was everything. The entire game was permanent decisions. Which skills to invest in. What to spend your money on. Crossing your fingers that a dice roll doesn’t fail. Hoping that a dialogue tree choice doesn’t F you over. Literally everything you did in that game had consequences, hence stress.

One of the things I realized recently is that I am highly adverse to stress in games. Things like countdown timers (realtime or turn-based) and permanent choices stress me out and make a game unenjoyable. Disco Elysium is pure stress, and I had to put it down.
