All plastics (and carbon fibers) are already made out of carbon products, and oil/coal/natural gas are all much cheaper sources of carbon than trying to extract it out of the atmosphere (also, an entire infrastructure is already in place). It will be a long time before those economics reverse.

Specifically which science are you referring to when you say, “the science is settled” here? Because science is generally not at all settled. That’s why it’s science. Like, people are constantly poking at various bits of science to figure out if that particular bit accurately explains the thing it’s meant to explain…

If you lack the strength and dexterity to cut through an avocado skin, I seriously doubt you’re going to be able to open this packaging.

The problem with “breaking the seal” by cutting the fruit’s natural wrapper is that oxidation begins immediately. To prevent this, they’d almost certainly have to use a multilayer film which includes adhesive(tie) layers, strength layers, and an oxygen barrier film. These are notoriously difficult to recycle.

Milk doesn’t come pre-packaged unless you were thinking of shipping cows to homes.
