“I just want to get through the story and build myself up to godlike status (with the coolest skills, armor, weapons)... is that too much to ask (maybe a little challenge is okay to keep things interesting)?”

Lots of different stuff I’m sure, but I think one major culprit is the media portrayal of “cross-dressing sickos” played for laughs that much of the older generation grew up with, combined with a bewildering reluctance to understand something or someone different from themselves or their ingrained views.
I love Katarn and have no feelings either way for Cal, but really? This hypothetical person who made this decision was a dumbass for iterating on a recent game that tons of people played instead of a guy from a quarter-century ago only known to a certain generation of fans? This is a dumbass business decision?
“a comedian who’s built his career on bashing trans folks.”
How were you able to determine this in a three minute window?
It’s funny because we all know that if the author hadn’t mentioned the Castlevania connection, he’d be inundated with angry comments calling him an idiot for it. Hard to win with this community.
Hopefully the studio gets the message ASAP that some guy on the internet thinks an out of bounds area in the demo needs some polish.
Apologies if this is a very stupid question, but this is just an upgrade and not an entirely new game, yes? As in, I can continue my current playthrough in the new version?
I’ve been having a ton of fun with it. As a former Destiny addict, it doesn’t really feel anything like that for me, so it’s strange to see so many comparisons out there.
“I would say it it’s not it’s not a live service,”
And not just from a theological and a million other standpoints, but from a rhetorical one as well. He never says why a man needs these things, he just says they do. How do none of these people (his audience and himself) hear their old teachers yelling in their ears to back up their assertions?
As a console normie, my first move is to disable controller vibration, particularly to improve aiming smoothness for FPS.
Same, for both the hyperfixation you mention as well as the immersion breaking.
Not that I can really blame him, given the reaction to the show’s end.
I, too, hate it when a company listens to its customers.
Am I the ONLY one on this entire website who correctly remembers beating Virtua Fighter with Chun Li back in the day?
Is this everyone’s first time on this website? It’s pretty clearly a joke.
I have no proof for this claim, but seriously doubt that line appears in the screenplay. Not that this is a cause I’m constantly championing or anything, but I do feel like writers are too often eye-rolled for reaction lines directors/actors most likely insert during shooting to pad out a moment. This feels like that…
Just because something doesn’t address the absolute root of an issue doesn’t make it “quite embarrassing” even if it is ultimately “fruitless.” Not every Kotaku piece is meant to change the world.
You do you, my friend, but dril is terrific. I follow three accounts on Twitter: dril, Jon Bois, and BodegaCats_, and highly recommend all three.
