Existential” has a few usages. In this context, it means a threat to humankind’s existence. I think you’re thinking of it like when an individual has an existential crisis, which is a little different.

I don’t know how people can spout “you should support the president no matter what” with a straight face. That’s the kind of sentiment you’d expect to hear in... certain other countries. The freedom to openly disagree with the government is a pretty foundational principle over here!

You’re saying “forget VAR for minor infractions that never get called anyway,” but I think the idea is to slowly change players’ mentalities on these types of things. These infractions never got called in the past because there just weren’t enough eyes to do so. Read more
