Despite an embarrassing number of playthroughs across the Souls series, I’m not sure I’ve ever used a single consumable.

Always Tifa vs. Aeris with you guys but as an edgy contrarian I gotta go with Jessie.
Excuse me, but this guy has been playing games since the Intellivision. We’re lucky to even be sharing a message board with him.
“waste their time.”
“That’s fair, if you think the person is talking about life in general.”
“I’ve never understood the idea that you get satisfaction out of failing and eventually succeeding.”
This is such a random thing to spend an entire half of the movie thinking about.
Via arbitrary italics.
Kotaku’s generally dour coverage of Game Pass makes me feel like I must be very disconnected from the gaming community. I’ve gotten so much out of it the last few years, mostly playing random little indie games and the occasional AAA game I missed when it was new.
It’s like the ridiculous “new lady Ghostbusters ruined my childhood” takes. The original was made in a vacuum and is its own thing. Some other people making something somewhere doesn’t have any effect on the original.
One of my favorite things about playing the original as a kid was comprising the party of three of my friends and me and feeling that we were going on this adventure together. So, for me at least, the nameless party leader of the original was totally robbed, if only because it was me.
Are you sure that was the thinking behind them? Maybe they just wanted some ultra-rare loot for the super grinders to keep going after. I’ve always enjoyed little things like this in looter games that the vast majority of players will never see as it makes it super special when you do. I’m not saying you’re wrong and…
I’m not sure I’d ever really seen “whips” used like this before but had no issue determining what it meant in this context. Looking around the comments, I guess I must be some kind of linguistic savant.
If you can separate the art from the artist, the Kanye water bottle tweet absolutely deserves to be here. As does Tyler, the Creator on cyberbullying.
The rule I always remember learning is write out numbers under 10 (the way the article does). Just a usage preference though and I’m sure it varies place to place.
Which is to say nothing of the unique Freya encounter in NG+, one of the scariest moments in any game for me. You’re outside, approaching her dungeon, your controller starts to rumble, the screen shakes, and she basically jumps on your head out of nowhere before scampering away.
Right on, my friend. Speaking of run-ups, have you played DS2's DLCs? The run-up to the optional samurai boss Sir Alonne is my nominee for the absolute worst one in all SoulsBourne. I ended up just clearing out all the enemies (killing them all ten times), which took hours. I would have quit if not for that unique DS2…
“Every try counted. Its[sic] empirical learning and not practice learning.”
I might be totally off-base here, but I don’t think this is true. In months past, they seem to add far more titles than what these posts list. I realize it’s linked through to Microsoft’s own site, but I think they just announce a few highlights, not everything, and more stuff gets added as they go. I could be wrong!
Totally hear you my friend, but I appreciate when some games try to be innovative and end up missing the mark. I think it has a positive macro-effect that can lead to cool, different kinds of things down the line.
