I'm so upset that I didn't make this joke.

My biggest concern isn't over their ability to get dates in the short term, but rather that this kind of thing can very well turn out to be Googleable (not a word, sorry) and the accusation can follow them around forever. It can affect grad school, job prospects, etc. It's not their campus rep, that's for sure.
I didn't - I just couldn't get it to appear anywhere other than my notifications list and couldn't respond to it or read all of it bc the end was cut off. Absolutely didn't dismiss it, though. Some kind of Kinja issue.
Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like I thought all of their lives were going to be systematically dismantled. That was intended to be an expression of what I would like to see actually happen to rapists.
I would concede that it's more fucked up.
I don't propose anything. I don't have a solution and I don't claim to. The fact is that most of the time when a crime is committed, the guilty party goes free and typically nobody is ever charged at all due to lack of evidence. I don't see how this fixes that.
No, it's really not. Rapists deserve every terrible thing they have coming to them. I'm just allowing for the possibility that maybe one of these guys isn't a rapist. I don't even think that's likely, but I do think it's possible. In that case, appearing on a list like this would be pretty fucked up. That's all I'm…
Thanks for the insulting and dismissive sign off. I thought we were having a completely civilized exchange about something that we both agree is a problem but where we disagree about appropriate ways to address that problem. I would like to see these accusations aggressively investigated and, if appropriate,…
Some of them are (in red). The others (in orange) are just on the same list as the accused rapists. What did they do to share space on the list with the accused rapists? And what sort of vetting was done by the people who made the list to ensure the veracity of the whole thing?
I don't really see your point. Some people are wronged and therefore it's ok for other people to be wronged? If one rapist goes free than everyone else accused is presumptively guilty?
That strikes me as an incredibly glib take on a list that anonymously and publicly labels a bunch of people as rapists.
I really, really hope that the people whose names appear on this list are guilty of what they're accused of. Whatever that actually is.
This is pointless. Women are already plenty aware of breast cancer and men never notice shoes.
That's what I'm saying though. You'd think that even the most biased observer would agree that Jeter is done, but nope!
You are a very optimistic person, Adultosaur. I suspect that most of the women who are interested in joining frats aren't going to be there to school the boys on feminism so much as to join the party.
I used to be like that as a kid. I think it's just that kids only have a handful of memories that stand out to them as "special" occurrences, and those things can often be the sort of thing that are filed away as mundane to an adult. I always liked gas stations when I was little because of the brightly colored signage…
I don't remember anyone's name. It's terrible. I can meet someone 5 times and if my girlfriend makes reference to them, I spend the first few seconds trying to put a face to the name and the next few seconds apologizing for having no idea who she's talking about. It's frustrating for me, and I can only imagine how…
I heard a guy on WFAN last week who called in to express the opinion that Derek Jeter is retiring too soon. Never, ever underestimate a Yankees fan when in comes to sports radio delusions.
No way I'm paying for one of these things. I'll just cut a hole in my floor and shit into the apartment below.
That's the hardest part of Wheel - figuring out what the fuck their categories have to do with their puzzles. Loud laughter is only a thing in that it's not a person or place.
