Elbe was non-dimorphic, so I'm going to call bullshit on that. You can masculinise a transitioned trans woman fairly easily.

If you can help it, never go to a Catholic hospital if you're pregnant or have a DNR. Unfortunately, the Catholic Church is buying out a growing number of hospitals. You can monitor and advocate via MergerWatch.org.

Less famous members.

A hospital? WTF?

"Hello, vulnerable teenage girl at the end of her rope who had no sex education, and welcome to our crisis pregnancy center. We're not medical professionals, but, for all you know, medical professionals consider us an acceptable alternative. Do we provide abortions and reproductive care? Ha ha ha, we'll get to that

Those earrings are bonkers. Either they were photoshopped in or her earlobes are defying gravity.

Now get catholic hospitals to stop lying. Fuck them too.

So... they can force real actual medical clinics to adhere to bullshit "ambulatory surgical center" standards, and they can force real actual medical clinics to have hospital admitting privileges.... but they can't force fake clinics to disclose to patients that they're NOT real actual medical clinics?

It's fairly terrifying. About three years ago, South Dakota passed a law (blocked by the courts) mandating that women seeking abortions first receive counseling at CPCs.

Wait, just remembered the worst part. The CPC is run by a local Christian ministry. After telling you you're pregnant and lying to you enough so you think it's too late to abort, they tell you they'll let you benefit from their food bank and baby donation cache ONLY if you start attending their church. The same girl

Women who're likely to become their victim are women without support, help, access to resources, so they're probably also not likely to file suit against them.

Why is it not fraud to present yourself as a medical professional?

The other day I found out a crisis pregnancy center straight up lied to a girl at my university and told her her pregnancy was farther along than it was and therefore no longer eligible for an abortion. The CPC ended up partnering with a "women's club" at my school to raise money for breast cancer research. They had

I wonder if women have brought suits against any of these centers because of their lies, if they delayed or prevented them from getting medical care they wanted.

Because it's Lying for Jesus.

This is so annoying! How is it possible for states to easily pass laws requiring students be taught blatant lies, or unscientific information regarding reproduction and evolution in science class but we can't pass a law that prohibits crisis pregnancy centers from deceiving vulnerable people?!

Why wasn't it already illegal for them to lie to these women?

People should keep that in mind when pulling the lever tomorrow. It's what happens when people vote republican: you get the kind of politicians and judges that would even countenance the kind of mental gymnastics needed to believe that "are you a doctor y/n?" is a violation of first amendment rights. And yes, sure,

So you're telling me that this had to go all the way to the fucking Supreme Court of the United States of America, land of the free or whatever where it is the year two thousand and fucking fourteen, to decree that a fake health clinic is not allowed to not tell women that they are fake.

It's fucking bullshit that states can force abortion providers to give medically inaccurate information to women getting abortions about cancer or dictate scripts about a fetus feeling pain, but can't force these centers to tell women what medical treatment they provide (or don't) or that pregnant women should go see
