We don't get taught WWII from his point of view, probably to avoid creating that problem. There are so many movies told from the point of view of misogynistic white men, because it's considered OK to glorify them.

They are paying for health insurance, not contraceptives. How the health insurance is then used is between the employee, their doctor, and the insurer. Trying to get involved in their employees' medical decisions is violating the employees' religious freedom.
Inconvenience doesn't justify discrimination.
Plus, the show just changed the canon to add extra regenerations. Why would it be a big problem to change canon to include changing gender during a regeneration if it wasn't already part of canon?
Group of 8 is an Australian university network.
This is why leaving it up to consumers to only purchase ethical goods just doesn't work. There needs to be regulations as well to set a minimum standard.
Politics.
I think that's the goal :(
So you think it would be OK to force the girl to have a baby if that is what her parents think is medically advised?
I also think that car culture is an important piece of the puzzle. When cities are designed to encourage walking or cycling you get so much more incidental exercise.
Something I heard on a podcast recently (stuff mom never told you) pointed out that as the law changes to make it 'easier' to prosecute rapes, the penalty tends to drop at the same time. So while the penalty was more severe in the past, very very few rapes would have resulted in any conviction.
The article isn't suggesting that people want to spend $300 every day of the year - but that they may want to spend more than $300 some days.
Although she was inaccurate in this particular case, it's not unreasonable to suspect racism.
Yes, I must admit that during birth I wasn't carefully considering the pros and cons of each position :).
Yeah, my hospital encouraged any position you feel comfortable in, except for specifically discouraging lying on your back (this is in Australia). The anti-vax movement has been getting attention here too. They have been active in northern NSW, leading to a low vaccination rate in that area. It's quite worrying.
I think it's a perfectly good reason not to have children. I'm talking about people who act as if it were the only reason why someone wouldn't want to have children (along with the implication that it isn't a good enough reason). They ignore the fact that it's not 'just' an inconvenience, but can also be quite…
Yeah, I get it - sometimes people throw the baby out with the bathwater. It's tricky because some childbirth practices have been, and in some cases still are, harmful to women. If you have lost your trust in doctors, and don't know much about medicine yourself, it's hard to know what to believe.
One think I liked…
It seems like it is still very controversial. The hospital I went to didn't perform them as standard practice, but some hospitals still do.
And then you hear the anti-choicers talking as though pregnancy and childbirth is just an inconvenience...
Yes, modern medicine has done wonderful things for making childbirth safer. But we still need to root out the dodgy practices that have been mixed in with the good.
