What they don’t understand is Cotton hates them too. Cotton is willing to have his voters commit civil rights violations, perpetuate racism and destroy democracy in order for him to be reelected. Because Cotton, like many of the Grand Ol Party sees their constituents as expendable.

I like nothing more than to remind racists that they’re racist.

As always, now and forever, racists will swear up and down that if you would simply stop reminding them of their racist behavior and whatnot and instead ‘work with them’ to address their hundreds of year long racist behavior, everything would be fixed overnight.

Instead of insinuating that Tom Cotton is racist, what should I call him?

They tried their damndest on january 6th 2021.

Dude was 99 years old. That’s nearly twice my age and I’m already starting to feel pretty tired...

Thank you. Making a “Black movie” when they actually called it a “Black movie” took some doing and, as such, those should be at the top of the list.

The more I think about it, the more I appreciate, but dislike panama’s list.

Claudine is such a great movie.

Imitation of Life, FTW! Cuz Mahalia AND if you’ve got a horse-drawn coffin funeral for a Black woman, it cancels out Lana Turner and every other white person in the movie!

I was thinking about Eve’s Bayou too. And Daughters of the Dust. Girl’s Trip. I’m sensing a theme.

Thank you. Also Beauty Shop and other Queen Latifah films (Bessie is mandatory). And I only know one other person who has seen The Brother From Another Planet (ok, the director is white...).

Just like the first list, this list consists of Black movies from your generation and lacks good Black movies that weren’t that mainstream, but resonate to this day. These are just a few:

None of the barbershop movies??? No Eve’s Bayou?
