I don’t see a lot of white folks getting too excited over Biden

I don’t think she can win in the general election.

The idea that every politician’s record needs to be essentially flawless to be worthy of the Presidency needs to die in a fucking fire.

the second they started seeing ships on their shores...

i have encountered far too many males who think like this both online and in IRL.

Having learned languages the slow way (courses, reading, watching foreign films, practicing with native speakers, etc.), I recommend Fluent Forever by Gabriel Wyner for those who want to save a lot of time:

I love buying my friends birthday dinners at a restaurant we both like, because I get a good dinner out of the deal too, and also the pleasure of my friends’ company

I have this little streak of anarchy in my brain that is like “fuck it, the world’s gonna end anyway!” Which is probably stupid haha.

Another good point.  I don’t know many people (well enough to talk about money) who have that kind of help.  Whenever I hear the word, the first thing that comes to mind are relatives who regularly play the lottery.  None of them ever wins, but they are more optimistic than I am.

One problem with invoking luck, fate, or the deity-of-your-choice’s will as the reason for success or failure is that it leads too many people to throw up their hands and leave everything up to one or all of those beliefs. Should we consider ourselves lucky for every positive and unlucky for every negative in life? I

I EARNED two degrees as an adult (!) on the promise of the second-tier American Dream reserved for Black folk

I look around at my peer group and none of us, despite education/jobs are financially more stable then our parents were at our age. The one difference that we can control are things that we consider integral (cars, vacays, etc).

but we can at least make the world a better place so that they can be less destructive

I wondered how many tries he’ll need to pass the first one.

I’ve seen 3 women open bottles and jars stick their fingers in and taste things in the grocery store!
