@LLisCool: Well, yes. Usually in any custody dispute or child endangerment case, or the like, the court will appoint a guardian ad litem which is an attorney that essentially represents the child's best interests. It is supposed to be someone who is detached from the parents or other guardians involved in the case

@addictedtopez: I repeat: I do not believe this woman is above criticism, but neither is your choice of words. If you want to continue conflating my arguments on two different points, go right ahead.

@addictedtopez: I will quote my first comment as to why I read the woman's comment differently:

@addictedtopez: Yeah, I understood your response the first time.

@addictedtopez: We don't even need to get into a conversation about being PC and feminism. I was suggesting you were (a) reading too much into the statement; and therefore, (b) the name-calling is just catty.

@addictedtopez: "I'm inclined to laugh a little that you actually think that girl is being treated like a regular inmate in that jail."

@addictedtopez: I'm going to continue to disagree with you regarding "dumb bitch." Such name-calling is usually discouraged here, since it really adds nothing except cattiness to the discussion. Not to mention it's a pretty harsh reaction to a statement that can clearly be interpreted different ways.

@addictedtopez: I'm not sure "dumb bitch" is really necessary, under any circumstances.

@Penny: Go as soon as possible and report back to me about how much you love it!

@danslesnuages: I much prefer the weird creatures singing about the pepper bar to these cats. I love cats, but this is just going to give me nightmares.

@dj underboob: That's uncanny. Perhaps her stylist found your polyvore page.

@MizJenkins: That's probably a fair assessment. I certainly know enough lawyers who would mistake formality for cordiality. So while I rolled my eyes a bit at his approach, it's not the worst thing I've read.

@MizJenkins: I'm a lawyer, too. While I appreciate the honesty in explaining his reasons, it's still possible to right a letter like this like a human being. All the business/legal flourishes are too much for me. "In sum," "in conclusion," "as soon as reasonably possible." He "resigned" from the relationship

@ramotional: This website exposes photoshopping disasters on all kinds of models, and generally tries to expose its overuse in the industry. No one is saying plus-size models should "escape retouching" (although this is far beyond a little retouching) because they are plus-size, but that retouching all models in this

@dialing_footnoterphone: SamIam is right, Talbot also called her "dusky" later in the show, although I can't remember the context entirely.

@jhelmsly: The drug example is an interesting one. There is actually an exemption from federal law for Native Americans who use peyote for religious purposes. On the other hand, I don't believe we grant exemptions for the taking of endangered animals that are also sometimes relevant to Native American religious

@jhelmsly: I highly doubt that the reason we prohibit polygamy is because it's unequal for women. That might be why some women are against the practice today, but that has nothing to do with why the laws prohibiting it were originally passed. Besides, if you wanted to enter into a "spirit marriage" with a second

@immaculate.gaenor: Considering the Queen of Louisiana is dating (engaged to?) her ex-boyfriend, that's an apt description.

@DanseManatee: I'm with you on the lack of good sex ed.
