I totally agree, but this performance is the opposite of that. If she hammed it up and chewed the scenery as Ada Wong that would be great. That’s what I want from Res Evil, but like I said in a later post, she just came across as bored office worker #1

Maybe. To each their own I suppose, but Ada’s voicework was one of the few substantial downgrades from the original IMO.

I feel like it was probably a bit of both. I’m sure “mysterious” and “poker-face” were probably in the brief, but I’m mostly getting bored office worker from her pefromance.

Hopefully Ada’s voice acting will be improved for this DLC. RE4 remake was great but Ada’s voice actor really seemed to be phoning it in.

Literally the only thing I knew about the game was from a few articles I read on Kotaku that basically said it ran like crap on PC.  No wonder it failed. There was no hype at all.

I also think the media is to blame for the propogation of this shitty practice. Kindof sucks when you’re waiting for release to play a game, and you see all these articles about it. It really adds to the FOMO.

I would say the argument is that this isn’t a value-add in the least. If anything it’s a value-diminish for anyone who is paying the full retail price for a game. Yes, I hear you, but at-least multiplayer access is a “service” in some shape way or form. Would we like it to be included with the price of the game? Sure. Should it be? Probably... but I get paying for it.

Here’s an idea. Instead of blaming publishers for this practice, which is clearly making them money, perhaps blame the rubes that actually pay for this scummy practice.

I’d say in general, modding it to allow 5120 x 1440 makes it a heck of a lot more immersive. I don’t know what the heck they were thinking not supporting it natively, especially when the demoed it on a G9 at that resolution at gamescon...

In their completely half-hearted defense, at least they actually got an actor this time. Still gimmicky, but she *should at least be able to put in a better performance than Ronda Rousey, who was basically known for taking one too many kicks to the head at that point.
