Point and case right here. Some people may have not liked the ending, but it did far better than the original series (1 season to 4 for the reboot). And if I'm having a down day I just search "Adama Maneuver" to remind myself that that happened. :)

Ah, I loved "The Quiet Earth". Definitely a bleak ending, though.

The ending to Monsters (which is actually the opening scene) put me in a near depression for a few days.

This movie doesn't get a lot of love, but I find the ending quite haunting. All of humanity has destroyed itself and its last vestiges are two shadows of humans—an android and an alien-created clone—and these two simulacra only get one day together.
