It’s in the state it is in BECAUSE it has no publisher. No one to give hard deadlines, no one to say “This has to be done by X date.” It’s freeing early on in a project to be able to experiment, but at a certain point, you need to set your eye on release.

#4 is way off. Two of the shorts star the lady characters, and are killer. In Toy Story of Terror, Jessie is the star as she overcomes her fear of boxes, while in Time Forgot Trixie is the hero, destroying an entire male-dominated society almost single-handedly.
