16, the iPhone doesn’t even have a 32 model. It’s 16/64/128 storage for $650/$750/$850.

That’s true. I didn’t see size of the priv mentioned in the article so I wasn’t sure. However, the reason Apple has the stupidly small 16gb version is so they can advertise that $650 price tag, so that’s what people see. In a fair comparison, you’re absolutely right, make a hypothetical 32gb iPhone at $700 and they’re

I don’t get why this exists. I thought everyone agreed that mice are just objectively better than trackpads, and the only reason we have trackpads is the covenience of having them built in to laptops. (There are exceptions for specific used if course, like using a wacom tablet for drawing)

Agreed. I think the “debt” in the chart is referring more to things like credit card debt. Car and home loans are often at reasonable interest rates and its good to get some retirement funds building before paying those off early. (Especially if your dealership gives you 0% on your car, I’m never paying a single cent

I think the idea is the emergency fund prevents you from creating more credit card debt if an emergency arises. However, if you instead pay off debt now, then get more debt in an emergency, you’re debt at this point is the same as if you had gone the emergency fund route. So I would agree that paying off debt could be

After the max IRA, I’m doing about 50/50 with more 401k and a taxable investment account. I don’t have specific plans for buying a house yet, but I know I want to eventually.

iPhone 6S starts at $650.

I’m glad it exists, there are definitely times I miss having a physical keyboard. I think the price is going to kill them though. If you’re the smaller guy in the market, you can’t come in with a product that costs more than the over priced leaders (Apple and Samsung). Other companies have enough trouble getting their

Well we can’t have that! Quick, someone say something horrible! The internet is supposed to be a wretched hive of scum and villany.

Agreed, it was a great name. I think part of it to was that it was a verb, being used as a noun. This difference in the part of speach lead to much less confusion than their other generically named products. It was always clear what you meant.

I can definitely see why some people would. Honestly it’s a pretty great messaging app, and the bubble things are a pretty awesome idea. It is definitely a whole lot better than messages within the Facebook app used to be. I guess it just boils down to how much you use the feature. That’s why I loved Google Photos

Yes and all those things you can do sounds useful, but much like RevealMenu does, couldn’t all of those things in theory be done with a long press instead of a force touch? Wouldn’t it be just as easy if instead of force-touching to bring up a little menu with some quick actions, you could just do a regular press and

A lot of good points! And thank you for the respect :)

I’ve been trying to figure out how the new force touch actually adds anything beyond what could already be done with a simple press and hold. Every time I try to ask about it, I get something along the lines of “no, its not the same thing!” with no actual explanation as to what it actually adds.

In particular, they “burned through” the name Wave a while ago, which they should have used instead of Hangouts as the name of the current messaging service.

I’m actually particularly mad at the name of Hangouts, because Wave would have been a much better name. Sure it would have created confusion with their dead product (that was cool in its own way, but that’s a separate discussion). But they don’t seem to care about that kind of confusion, and long term it would have

Best idea ever. You have no idea how much I now want this to happen.

I’m on board with Apple getting a cut of app sales themselves. And maybe even a small cut of subscriptions. The issue is that 30% is just way too much for subscriptions.

I often strongly agree about less apps that do more. For me it depends on context too though. For Facebook, I’m still mad that messenger is a separate app. I want one super-app for all of Facebook. On the other hand, I was ecstatic when they made Google Photos a separate app from Google +.

Correction: Don’t buy any subscription of any kind on iOS. Some cost more, including the new YouTube Red and Hulu, and any that don’t cost more just means the service you actually use and enjoy gets less money, and Apple gets to take 30% in exchange for just processing the payment.
