And the most important rule, is to always make sure you get any 401(k) match that your employer offers. It’s free money. A friend of mine has an employer that apparently offers a 401(k) where they will fully match up to 6%. That’s amazing! That’s twice what I get at my employer, who gives me 3%. But I’m pretty sure he

“Verizon Android” is not a thing. That’s like if you said that a “Best Buy Xbox One” is slow, so if you shop at Best Buy you should stick with your old Xbox 360.

The carrier, such as Verizon, doesn’t make your phone slow and clunky. They add apps you don’t need sometimes, but they don’t really mess with the OS. It’s the manufacturer of the device putting a skin on the OS that can make it clunky and slow.

I have never modified my car, and likely never will. But it’s MY CAR and I should be able to if I want to. I’m fine with rules about what you can and can’t do while you’re still paying it off (since the loan company owns part of it). I’m fine with it voiding warranties, tinkering is an “at your own risk” kind of

It has not been “almost a year” of waiting for Cyanogen 12. Lollipop was announced almost a year ago. It was released only 5 months ago.

This actually might be a good example of the importance of teaching kids to really understand math, not just memorize formulas. I actually came to the solution quickly because the algebraic approach to calculating the surface area of a cylinder. Surface area is circumfrance times height (plus the top and bottom, that

Yeah in college I participated in this nationwide math test thing. I forget what it was called. 6 hours to work on 12 problems. Worth 10 points each. The problems are so hard, and they are so strict about partial credit, I got 3 points out of a possible 120. And that was the highest score at my college, which got me a

Possibly, but according to the article above, the test was for final year college students that had taken advanced math courses. Kids like that should not be making a mistake like that.

Yeah that was my answer too. I used a calculator, but in retrospect it’s a simple 3/4/5 triangle, so it could even be solved without a calculator.

Nothing but USB type c. That’s the whole point, it can do everything. I want more than one of course, but just a bunch of those. It’s going to be very convenient when everything, on all devices, even power, is over the same kind of port.

I don’t understand the grounds behind this case.

I hope you're right, if that's how it works I'm fine with it.

Not sure how I feel about the changes to the fret buttons, I’ll have to try it before making a call on that. I do think I’ll miss sliding up and down through five buttons and using my pinky though.

A new chromebook pixel

That's what I was going to suggest too. Even if Netflix isn't a perfect replacement for you because of sports or something, when money is tight, it's going to be good enough for pretty much everyone if it means saving $50 - $100 per month.

1023, by utilizing binary. I actually do count this way sometimes, it can be really useful.

I took a behavioral economics class in college, and we read about one study that came to an interesting conclusion. The study said that people had “caught on” to the deceptive practice of selling things for $4.99, since it has been used so much for so long, and to the average consumer they round it to $5, and that one

Some of the digital ones you actually can guarantee the quality by downloading it in advance. I can’t speak for other services since I haven’t used them, but I know with movies you buy through Google Play, you can have it download the video onto your Android device in advance, and the watch it even with no Internet

Never say never. The only industry as insane about this stuff as the movie industry, is the music industry. And somehow we’ve gone from DRM filled crap, to every major service offers DRM free music files that you can actually download, and almost all the in the same file format of mp3.

I completely agree. I wish movie files were in a standard DRM free format that you could download as well as stream. We won’t be there anytime soon, but it could happen eventually, that’s what we have with music now.
