I see their reasoning behind not explicitly prohibiting zero-rating. In regards to helping low income people as was briefly mentioned, there are clear benefits to making sure they can access something like Wikipedia as much as the want without worrying about data caps. But the issue is, there is no easy line between

Haha I think that's why they have the program, it's not the most opportunity filled state. There are some jobs, I was able to get a job as an actuary at an insurance company with my degree in mathematics, but we're definitely not exactly rolling in opportunity here. My guess is that they're hoping that not only will

Awesome! That's great that you are doing everything you can to protect your kids. Not only is that helping the bad habit not affect them, but hopefully the responsibility and caring for others that you are showing by doing that will rub off on them too 😊

Yes I definitely agree that the same strategies are useful regardless 😊

I believe you are correct that you have to be a Maine resident while attending a Maine college, but most people live on or near campus while attending school, and so even if they are from out of state they would still end up qualifying for the credit if the stay in Maine after graduation. This would only be an issue

Most of these tips are very good, and I agree that it's important to take the angle of being supportive and showing benefits, not attacking them. This was quite a good article! But I think there's an important distinction to be made about your last point.

Maine has a similar program, encouraging college students to stay there. The Maine Credit for Educational Opportunity is a tax credit on your Maine state taxes if you went to college in Maine, got a degree, and now live and work in Maine.

If it can do data at 10gb/s... Is this going to replace ethernet cables too? I would be okay with that.

I am literally giddy. I'm probably going to build a desktop towards the end of this year. I'm hoping that by then, I can buy a motherboard that's just got a set of US type c ports, and that's it. If my video card, and hell power supply too, can be also be just type c, that'll be an awesome bonus.

Does Google Drive actually let you store small photos/short videos for free? I know small photos added to your Google+ photos don't count, and big ones use your storage. But as far as I know, if you have them directly in your Google Drive as .jpg files, they use your storage space even if they're small.

Can I add YouTube channels and/or playlists in Pocket Cast? There's a show I've been meaning to start listening too, but it's technically a YouTube video not a podcast. It looks like in Podcast Addict (which I just downloaded like 5 minutes ago, and is free) I can add YouTube stuff. If pocket cast can do that too,

I'm pretty sure that there is an Uber app for Android Wear that does the same thing, though I don't personally use Uber so I'm not positive.

That's somewhat true. Obviously the gold one is only for people with preposterous amounts of disposable income. But even the sport version costs 40% more than a Moto 360 or other Android Wear watches.

This is why the cost is such an issue. I like new tech and being an early adopter, and so far I've bought two smartwatches (original Pebble and then a Moto 360). I had the Pebble for about a year, and I expect that after about a year with the Moto 360 there will be something better and I'll be considering another

Haha I know, you're right. But I can dream can't I?

I will agree that there are some odd things about it, like the mobile processor in a laptop that costs over $1000. I guess that was the only way to get it so small and fanless.

I hope the in the future, Toyota releases cars that support Android Auto and Mirror Link, but not Car Play. And then they can market it as supporting "all major mobile phones".

To anyone who has GAP and wishes they didn't, look into canceling it. I recently canceled mine. Mine cost me $600, and I was about halfway through my loan when I found out I could cancel it, so they gave me back about 300. I was surprised that they just took it as a simple linear value like that, because GAP insurance

This is my only real financial regret. I should not have purchased GAP insurance on my car (a new 2012 Corolla, that I bought in May of 2012). A couple months after I bought the car, I was looking at some documents and saw how much I paid for it and couldn't believe how stupid I was. Honestly, I should have brought my

Yes and no. True that it's rated 18 hours, but let's think about that in the real world. In a typical day I get up at 7 and go to bed at 11, that's 16 hours. Yes that's just me but I don't think it's uncommon for people to be up for 16 hours or more. It's true that 18 is greater than 16, but battery estimates are
