Ugh. I work on a military base, and I was in the gym the other day, and some guy was in the locker room complaining to his buddy about Obamacare, even though he admitted to knowing nothing about it. And acknowledging that he didn’t know anything about it because he (like basically all active duty service-members) is

But FDR was actually kind of radical, him and Huey Long were talking about pretty serious redistribution of wealth in the 1930s. I have my students read some documents from the American Communist Party from the 1930s, and some documents from Long and FDR from the same period, people honestly have a hard time telling

Well, he doesn’t want his real racist friends to get the wrong idea.

“ Im not racist! I threaten to lynch all kinds of people! Asians, Mexicans, Jews, Muslims, non-white atheists, Catholics, Gays, Lesbians, those Transylvanias what dress like women, and sometimes regular women if they don’t appreciate me for my winnin’ personality. See?! All kinds of people!”

how about sexy rodeo clowns?

Hi, gave birth to one for you already! I can finally get something religious correct! Success!

One should never fuck with Miss Coco Peru. It simply isn’t done.

So, all this “grey area between pro-choice and pro-life” is definitely alarming, but I think I found hope! This is from their website, under “Core Values”:

We should refuse their skewed rhetoric. It’s anti choice. It’s forced birth. It’s the dystopian “hand maidens tale” and it’s freaking scary.

I agree fully and only have less vitriol than usual because I already ate a sleeve of cookies.

Yeah there’s really only one of the two that allows for gray area, which is pro choice. Don’t want one? Don’t have one. Don’t believe in them? Again, don’t have one. Have questionable feelings about them? That’s between you and your doctor. There isn’t a hard line within pro choice, unlike the anti-choice movement.

Same. They’re like the people who say I’m not republican, I’m libertarian. Who are you trying to fool?

Any organization that is trying to tell me they exist in the “grey area” between pro life and pro choice can kindly fuck off, please.

“...Pro-voice is an alternative to divisive political rhetoric, and its home is in the grey area between pro-life and pro-choice.”

The problem is there is no fucking grey area.

Part of undermining the pro-life movement is to stop calling it “pro-life”. They care nothing about life, as evidenced by all the policies they put forth to make it impossible for single mothers to survive. They are “pro-forced birth” and nothing more.

“a 15-year-old organization that promotes respectful dialogue around abortion, but doesn’t call itself pro-choice (From their FAQ: “We don’t choose sides. Pro-voice is an alternative to divisive political rhetoric, and its home is in the grey area between pro-life and pro-choice.”)

Yes but they will have their abortions on the down low, then go right back to vilifying others who get one.

Just a really elated Planned Parenthood employee over here!! :)
