I actually used to get incredibly frustrated with people who didn't say anything. A lot of the time, my manager would come by near the end doing a routine check and ask how everything was, and at that point the customer would say they didn't like the food. ? Aren't both those things characteristics of a good personality?

And really, the ability to tell a good joke and to pony up when it's your round is much more important than personality.
