The slogan is silly; most slogans are. Brand hate, though, is just as silly as fan-boy-ism. I have supplied software and engineering tools almost every global OEM, and they’re more the same than they are different.

I agree that it’s silly to limit yourself to a single brand; my post was directed at the “mundanity” comment.

mundanity

Not paying that much for O.P.P. (Other People’s Project).

I love you brah, but...you aren’t speaking for all of us. I’m seriously considering one, and I would pound the living Hell out of it...just like everything else.

Would you tune a Z06, or does that seem completely unnecessary to you as well?

I wouldn’t own 79 of anything, but...bless ‘em for following their dreams. I can’t see owning more than three (street, track-day and top-speed run), and I love mine, but that’s just me...

Back away as quickly as possible...you can’t afford the repairs.

The price is debatable, but I put 250K miles on one of these and then gave it to a family member. He drove it to 330K before selling it because he had spilled a latte in it and couldn’t stand the smell any longer.

Full gear, all the time...I’ve seen too many people receive significant injuries “just riding a couple of miles”...

CP - trans conversions may sound simple, but are often exactly the opposite because of bellhousing alignment issues, PCM calibration, etc.

CP-worthy by itself...

I know this will be the minority opinion, but...

I like the fundamental premise, because the Biturbo powertrain is seriously awful, but...this is one of the stupidest projects I have ever seen. Why even use this car if you’re going to take all of the Maserati out of the Maserati?!

Ah, the Predator Carburetor...a variable-venturi carb in a world of Holleys. I had one of these on one of my street cars; it was great for enhancing the low-end drivability of otherwise over-built street engines. They never could match Holley’s marketing and only obtained a fraction of the market...

Mercedes brought Chrysler to its knees by gutting Engineering so it could transfer only to Germany via “consulting” and “technology licensing fees”: the Chrysler Group was paying, by way of example, Mercedes a near-$600 “license fee” on every WA580 (old 5 speed automatic) that was built in Kokomo.

It is, in my opinion, more fun to drive on the track than it is on the street - when equipped with a manual. Still not as much fun, [still] in my opinion, in either regime as the Viper.

Of course there isn’t such a rule, but again...I pointing out that this is a spec-sheet response and in no way reflects the actual desirability of the car.

Not relevant, as the car referenced isn’t as much fun to drive. These are the kinds of conclusions that are made in the absence of actually driving the cars, instead of just reading about them...

So...anecdotes?
