I like manual transmissions; I own several stick-mobiles. Lack of a manual transmission, however, is rarely the reason an entire model doesn't meet sales expectations. It's hard to blame transmission options alone when you have a 70:30 auto/manual sales ratio in a stable-mate sports car. I don't know why it isn't

This isn't a "Fox" platform car; it's an "FN10", which is a derivative of the "MN10" platform:

I think that you need to spend more time in the auto industry. It's a minor bastardization of the textbook definition, but we use it as a euphemism for covering NRE. I do know what it means outside of my little ecosystem:

2014 U.S. Sales: 760

I'm older than most here, and I remember the original shorts as witty set-ups for terrible ending punch-lines. The trailers made this look like fart and poop-jokes and, when I broke down and watched this, it turned out to be just as mind-numbingly stupid as the trailers implied.

Fun read. Make no mistake: the Hellcat "twins" were made for pretty much one thing: giving the driver a palpable sensation of speed, with just enough cornering and braking ability to keep you from getting killed. This isn't a Lotus Elan, and that's fine.

Saying that "it's the talent" completely and utterly ignores every other variable, two of the largest being the shear velocity differential and the unpredictability of other drivers. These two items alone (though there are many more) are why this is so dangerous to the other people on that road.

Those of us in the Detroit auto community aren't offended by this, as we know that he spent billions trying to reinvent the wheel - avoiding existing technology and suppliers - only to turn to us when he couldn't get anything done. And lots of little crazy things, like having part of their network strategy developed

Much, much better than the CL post!

The Falcon F7:

This could be as mundane as an emission test vehicle. Those extensions are very common on manufacturer-plated vehicles here in Detroit, and EM testing is typically the use-case of those outlets...

It's a Yamaha-designed, Volvo-built engine - assuming that the Wikipedia article is correct...

I've recorded every race for the last 15 years :)

Yeah...depends on the broadcast, but some of the video is priceless. I'm re-watching the Speed broadcast right now :)

2004 French GP: a brilliant strategy that required Michael to run three-fourths of the race at a qualifying pace.

I posted this a joke, but his character could be historical, depending on who you believe:

This is The Morning Shift, our one-stop daily roundup of all the auto news that's actually important — all in one place every weekday morning. Or, you could spend all day waiting for other sites to parse it out to you one story at a time. Isn't your time more important?

I put myself through school wrenching at, then becoming the Service Manager of a dealer that sold these, and these things are maximum super-junk:
