I'm going to play Disney's advocate here because to be honest I think the Frozen backlash is a bit out of proportion for a movie that hasn't even been released to critics yet. I agree with a lot of the sentiments in this article but...it's really full of holes.

(2) Change the story. In the original story, the girl rescues her brother. Now, she rescues her sister, keeping the trope of a damsel in distress and preventing a girl from saving a boy.

I wanted to be with you, but you have a lot wrong here. In the original story, it's a girl going to save a LOVE interest - where on earth did you get her saving her brother? And she isn't SAVING her sister in this one, her sister is now kinda evil. Calling the movie "The Snow Queen" now would be like calling

Now playing

Well the official trailer does feature her

...It wouldn’t be unusual to see them leave the front desk and play Frisbee or kick a soccer ball out front. Then during office parties, they would pop their shirts off and serve a tomato-mozzarella appetizer — cater waiters. I mean, these are people who work here.

Video of these "cater waiters" on the way to work:

Thank you for this!

I really appreciate that you wrote this. I hope there was some kind of conversation with Doug and the author of the Gawker article about their pieces. For a website that spends a lot of (important) time speaking against victim blaming, it really was atrocious and disheartening that a piece mocking someone for

I'm a little upset that it's not mentioned that Jezebel also messed up in how this was addressed.

I was waiting on a chance to speak with someone at RAINN (which didn't happen until this afternoon). While ideally the turnaround time would be quicker we both needed to find time in our schedules to talk. I didn't want to write about this without talking to them.

Most of my favorite foods for dogs come from Canada. The reason? WAY more stringent standards and practices than the U.S. So that kind of explains issues I have with libertarians, who wish to have our own current practices weakened.

Technically, Annie Lennox's post wasn't an open letter. Just a public comment. But I'm actually sort of glad that there is a public dialogue happening about this stuff. I feel like we've reached Peak Pop Nudity and something had to give.

Chuckle, I generally give them the benefit of the doubt too. But then I started counting...and I used to volunteer in a shelter, so I was familiar with this practice. Even though we never did this sort of thing, since we had a teaching hospital on site, most shelters don't have the personnel/time/expertise available

Awwwww yes, Atticus is adorable! No offense to cats but, I have always had dogs and I just think they're awesome pets. Plus, I'm allergic to cats so, that's pretty much out so, I can't really say that I know that much as far as pet cats are concerned.

TEAM DOGGEH!!!!!111!!!!!!

Firmly Team Dog. Always and forever. Screw all those cats who think they're the boss of me.

There once was a cat who lived in a shoe.

Team Dog!

Team DOG!!!

I agree! Too many kittens. How did she give birth to all of them?
