How much extra do you have to pay for the game to work?

That seems to be what they’re going for. Only AC through AC3 had the ‘present day’ character actually be reliving the memories of a direct ancestor, and rather frighteningly, that’s now only 5 out of 9 console games- Or only half of them once Syndicate makes it 10 console games. It’s a conceit of the past.

This was the previous God of Death, before the current one. Last I checked he was supposedly imprisoned or some such, so him turning up to do the honours was more of an Easter Egg than anything else.

I liked the original Guild Wars Trilogy’s approach of having the actual ancient God of Death drag the character away. I wonder why they didn’t keep that.
