No matter how good the new Wolfenstein is, I just can’t get over the fact that it retroactively invalidates every single previous game in the series. You lose, the Nazis win, and in the new game everything you do amounts to basically giving the victorious regime a black eye. Yay.

They’re the epitome of Trying Too Hard.

The problem is that they feel the need to one-up themselves every game. Can’t repeat themselves, must up the ante, so things that needed no fixing were broken.

The one of the above that I regret losing the most is actually NOT The Last Guardian. Instead, I was really pumped for Prey 2. A whole open-world game essentially set in ME’s Omega sounded like it was really going places... Then it went down the tubes.

I’ve said it before and I’ll no doubt end up saying it again, but I feel HR’s biggest narrative misstep is trying to be a prequel to Deus Ex 1.
