"Stole" ::cough cough::

Is this a L33T joke? Freaking awesome...

Any word on if that ridiculous paint job is radar absorbent? Stealth avoidance of speed traps would be a big selling point to me.

Do they ban users from this site?

Sounds like somebody's got a terminal case of the olds...

Looks like some pretty nasty toe out, too... Driver didn't seem too concerned accelerating away, though.

It might be a bit of a catch-22 with reports of neighbors rushing in to occupy targeted structures in hopes of staving off an attack. With too much time between the two events, the Israelis might be giving locals too much time to put themselves in harm's way...

I'm not entirely sure why such a tactic would be controversial. Would it be better if they simply blew the occupants up?

It's a really strange conflict when combatants hide among the populace and use human shields in the hopes that excessive civilian casualties will fan the flames of war ever higher. It's a really

It looks similar to the rocking horse maneuver they use to deploy soldiers from a longline. You let the load swing on purpose, then slide the chopper in exactly opposite of the momentum of the return swing. The two forces cancel each other out and, ta-da! stationary load.

Hinds usually only retract their gear for max-aero on high-speed dashes. Conducting ground attacks the gear often get left down for extra-crash bracing in case the helo takes a hit. Same reason why most US attack birds use fixed gear.

It's odd to me how many of the classical COIN platforms seem to either be going on the chopping-block or beginning phase out. Granted, guided and stand-off munitions are awesome and, in combat with a technologically advanced enemy, a huge boon for survivability. That said, it seems like the last 12 or so years in Iraq

The new Dodge Hell-cougar?

She's a pretty bird in her own way, but I have yet to see the FAB component of the design operationalized... Great jet built for a mission brief that could've easily been handled by existing inventory... Doesn't mean she isn't purdy, though...

Then again, I've always found the A-10 oddly beautiful, too...
