Er, one of the big things about Seinfeld is that the main characters /aren't/ likeable. I mean, they're good characters, and the show is great, but I don't really want to hang out with them.

I think it has to do with the circumstances in which you are raised and live. Some people have to grow up faster than others. Taylor Swift is not one of those people.

Um. I don't really have any feelings either way about Anne Hathaway, so my main reaction to this article is YAY JENNIFER WRIGHT ON JEZEBEL.

You can make jokes about your friends without resorting to tired sexist or homophobic jokes. My friends and I constantly insult each other, but we have more imagination than that.

There's a Scrubs episode that's an homage to "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" (I assume that's what you meant)?? Either I never saw it or didn't catch the reference, do you know the name?

Sid! I actually have that exact same puppet. He uses Folkmanis brand puppets, and I collect them.

Truth.

I think that's a safe bet.

I've never watched Jimmy Fallon (I'm a Letterman/Craig Ferguson girl) so I don't know if his show's any good, but ANYTHING is better than Leno.

Yikes. I'm assuming (hoping?) that these people were Orthodox and/or Conservative? Usually Reform Jews aren't that uptight. The whole "Jewish regardless of what you think or how you identify" thing is a very traditional way of thinking. I assure you that there are plenty of us who don't think like that and would

I was thinking that as well. I am also an English major.

Traditionally Judaism is considered to be passed down through the maternal line. Also, you don't have to be religious to consider yourself/be considered Jewish. It's an ethnicity as well as a religion. I know plenty of agnostic and atheist Jews. They still consider themselves to be Jewish.

Now I'm having a mental image of Joe Mantegna doing one of those ridiculous workout videos, and it's both horrible and amazing.

This whole thread is amazing.

Like everyone else, I really want a samosa now. I am extremely lucky and there is a food collective place on my campus that has delicious organic hot meals every day (which are usually no more expensive than the shitty fast food on the floor above), and they often have samosas.

I'm jealous both of her dream and yours.

No problem. I think it's good that you're trying to educate yourself. :)

You refer to trans* individuals by the gender they identify as; thus, male to female = transwoman and female to male = transman.
