Yeah, everyone is saying “no blush, no shimmer” so I think I’m going to take a matte bronzer, maybe something on the cooler side, and do the perimeter of my forehead and a soft and subtle contour on the back of my cheekbones.

I am really pale so I think I need to do something to my cheeks, yes. Something beige or super muted and I’ll keep it on the backs of the cheekbones or beneath, not apples of the cheeks.
Based on all the comments, this is exactly what I’m going to do.
That’s how I ended up with a good passport photo. Hopefully it’s not busy when I go and I get someone who’s having a better than average day at work.
Skipping lipstick was one of many mistakes last time. My lips are really pale.
I think you’re right about eyeshadow and I’m going to go for a little kitten eye on the top lash only.
I wouldn’t have thought to skip blush but this is my second warning. It makes sense now. I totes know about tilting to get a good angle—last time I kind of got blindsided and rushed through. I was like, wait, you took it? My passport picture is amazing and the woman who took it was actually coaching everyone through…
I believe this, okay, no pink blush. I am pale and I’m always washed out in the pics. My first picture I looked like a cute ghost but the second picture I just look like a moon face with beady black eyes.
I just looked it up and there are some foine actors in that company.
Makeup advice poll: I have to renew my driver’s license soon and I want the picture to be good. My current picture is horrible and everyone laughs at it. Does anyone have any tips for what makeup style is most flattering under that DMV flash?
I am! Thank you!!
That sounds awesome! A “horror house” that was more like a living museum/stage performance I would love. I guess I’m just a traditionalist in that I like the audience to be the audience and the actors to be the actors. I’m not a huge fan of the two interacting, because the joke’s always on the audience.
I don’t feel true fear so much in a haunted house as just the anticipation of being “got.” I’m afraid of the embarrassment, really. Feeling like a fool takes the fun out of it for me.
I love horror movies and it’s very rare that they scare me. I love the Halloween spirit. But I don’t like haunted houses. I don’t like being jump-scared and I don’t like the akwardness of being on the wrong side of the fourth wall. And I DON’T like being touched. We’re not uncool for disliking them ;)
Furiosa ftw! I skipped the arm part because I’m just going to a house party where no one else will be putting in that kind of money and effort. But I got the goggles and everything else. I wish I had the skills to make my own costumes.
Aw, yeah. It can be hard to find somewhat obscure movies from that era. If you don’t mind paying just a few bucks you can always check Amazon (Peeping Tom available for rent at 2.99). Sometimes Youtube has full movies, too. Also, if you have cable you can scope out TCM’s lineup for the month of October. Obviously…
Peeping Tom is a great movie. Not terrifying (unless you scare super easy), but very inventive for its time regarding its concept and camera angles.
That’s an argument I wouldn’t take up.
L’oreal makes pretty good ones of different versions. I use their pot which comes with its own brush which is a good short length for getting close to the mirror. It stays on well (I’ve worn it to weddings and such) and the pot hasn’t dried out on me yet, going on [correction] almost a year at this point. They also…
Maybe the color is too dark? Or your strokes were too heavy? Or what do you think went wrong?
