One of the major divides between the audience and the developers is that too many in the audience have no idea how development actually works. If Linneman is right, that there’s a CPU bottleneck, then yeah, lowering the resolution wouldn’t do much to raise framerates. That would lower pressure on the GPU, not the CPU.

Also in the previous two games he would have been instantly recognizable.

    a villain from Uncharted?

Looks cool, thanks for the tip

Being able to dam a river in Nova Roma... that has my attention, very cool.

Does anyone else feel it hews a little too close to the original? It’s obviously a visual improvement, but every bit of footage looks like a game I’ve already played too much of.

This legitimately is the first interesting game Ubisoft has presented in years. Looks great.

Honestly I think Ubisoft needs to pull back from the open worlds at some point.

That in no way means that people should be criticized for expecting improvements in the sequels, including Baldur’s Gate

I’d say Baldur’s Gate at 4k60fps is an unreasonable expectation, especially now that it’s real-time and polygonal instead of pre-rendered backgrounds and sprites. Maybe at 1440p, though, that’s much easier to achieve with today’s hardware.

And let me tell you, if you’ve been playing 60 FPS, and now you’re looking at 30 FPS, it looks awful. It gives you a headache.

LOL future proof when they charge up the ass for expansion.

Just a reminder to the angry out there: over ten million players have been enjoying Tears of the Kingdom at a not-so-locked 30fps for the last month. It’s not the end of the world.

It would have been amusing if there was a comment that Redfall was more financially successful than Hi-Fi Rush which ms saw as a financial failure.

Having completed Redfall in full, and after reading the Schreier piece, I think it best to just bookend it already. Per Schreier, the devs clearly didn’t want to make this game, which leads me to believe that they probably don’t want to “fix” it either. Granted, based on my own experience with Redfall, the game could b

Should’ve just replaced the base model at $300. It seems like a no brainer to just spend the extra $150 to future-proof your box.
