Get the conical lights, not ones shaped like incandescent bulbs. They offer a lot more sparkle than you can get from incandescents.

While it is cheaper, long term, to use LED lights, they can be more expensive to purchase up front. Some people also report having a negative reaction to blue LED lights, so going all blue for your display might not be a great idea.
