Yeah diesels are awesome but that’s a lot of rotella. Still a big fan though.

I seriously don’t get people not changing their oil. If your car is OK with conventional I can get you out the door for 25 or so depending on how much it takes. It’s insane to ruin an engine that will cost thousands to replace over $30.
Thanks for asking.
Seriously. What does that even mean? ( Yeah I know how it works, mostly, but the phrase is meaningless).
And you are totally correct. I was thinking just of Chevy but an excellent point.
Dear Ford,
My mistake.
Not solid front, not on a passenger car. Solid front axles then were for medium duty trucks. And of course now only for serious 4x4s like the old Cherokee and Wrangler.
“Knee-action “ front and leaf springs on the rear, with lever type shocks.
Wasn't aware. You'd think that'd get some mention on this site. Or maybe it did and I missed it.
Of course. Mental error on my part. Perhaps you're right. I'd be interested to see how the Wrangler contributed to FCA profit compared to Ram or Cherokee.
So, who’s out there trying to knock off Wrangler? Ford GM and Chrysler have nothing like it, Toyota swung and missed with FJ Cruiser, and gave up, and if any Asian makes have a real competitor to it they won’t get it past the chicken tax as an import. And plant capacity probably rules out building it here.
Was there any real doubt about this? I can’t imagine Kim believes he could live through a regime change of any kind, even a peaceful one, so what does he have to lose?
I remember the Car and Driver review of the Toyota Starlet, essentially their answer to the Chevette in a small rear drive hatch. They said the conversation at Toyota went something like :”The best selling car in America is the Chevette. The Chevette is a goddam garden tractor! We can build a Chevette that’ll knock…
You must be right because I haven't run into it with a Ford.
And again, my point, which I probably didn't do a good job of making, is that more sophisticated vehicles will be more of a burden on lower income drivers to maintain than less sophisticated ones. I see this daily with people who are getting their first ever quotes for low profile tires with TPMS, it's a shock to some…
That was a known issue with the 6T series GM and Ford 6F (same design). The wave plate simply put is a part designed to pre load the clutch. Sorry it happened to you but you weren't alone.
Hard to kill them but they have their issues like everything else. Intake manifold gaskets and heater bypass elbows on 3.8s have made our shop a good little bit of money over the years.
Yes, unfortunately, and they usually have the same reaction. There's a reason old euro luxury cars are cheap on Craigslist.
Figure in 12 years inflation, whatever labor will be an hour, and the fact that you don't know what these shocks really cost as they're brand new. My point is it'll be a lot and as newer, more complicated cars age and are purchased by people with lower income there is a lot of sticker shock regarding repairs.
