No offense, but I don't know that a SoCal Dookie is the person to talk a Tar Heel born in North Carolina into seeing it your way. Cherrypicking on my part:

Steve Kerr is the most accurate shooter from distance in NBA history. Saying that he was incredibly valuable because he knew his roles misses the part that separates a role player for a key sub/spot starter: Being able to know AND EXECUTE your role. If you'd rather have Mo Williams than Steve Kerr, knock yourself

That makes perfect sense. Great Player X is actually great. People who like Great Player X and think it's ridiculous that people who don't like Great Player X just make shit up because they won't come out and say "I just don't like him"? They need to get over it.

Wait... I'm sorry. Do you actually NEED another person posting on a website dedicated to sports to provide a justification for why they might not like a particular university (or for that matter a particular professional team)? You sound rational but also, frankly, a little dense. Setting aside that you're asking

I'm a Carolina fan with friends who are Wildcats fans. I can confirm that this is definitely worth the $1.99 to tweak them, though I wouldn't go so far as to describe it as "hate" per se. Hate is reserved for Dook and the NC State Dogpack. Kentucky, Kansas, and UCLA are more in the disdain/grudging respect

My apologies. Your home state is the yankee state of choice when local Tar Heels are giving local Blue Devils the business about their student body. Old carpet-bagging jokes die hard! I meant no harm!

What do you mean you people? (Sorry, you teed that up. I couldn't resist using one of my favorite movie lines...)

Full disclosure: I don't actually care if other people dislike Dook. Academically speaking, it's a fine university and has a strong track record of educating the children of affluent people from New

The feminists didn't do that; Jezebel did that.

"Miley's become fairly notorious for objectifying her black back-up dancers and appropriating the trappings of black culture so, um, let's reserve all the Top Feminist accolades for now."

Jezebel said it. It must be so. No merit sticker for Miley!

This came up on Grantland and now it has spread to Deadspin. I think it's time for an intervention. Let's be clear about this so that there is absolutely no confusion:

No amount of aesthetically pleasing play by talented basketball players wearing Dook University uniforms will EVER necessitate anyone liking Dook

I'm in the habit of answering questions when they're asked. I've even occasionally clarified what I meant when someone said "I'm sorry, but that makes no fucking sense whatsoever." But if you're done, I'm fine with letting this settle where you left it yesterday. I'll update my notes as follows:

Hagetaka; thinks

You got quiet quick!

Are you sure he wasn't just acting like he lost his marbles? Or that he ever had marbles to begin with? I saw The Master and he was as riveting as ever. But he was also acting like a completely crazy person.

And I'd include the butterfly in the "worth the effort" category.

Other than the butterfly, I don't find any of these too complex to work around. Certainly worth the effort.

I wonder about that, briefly, as it's happening. Every single time...

"This is hotter! Why, though?" and if I don't stop thinking about it, the "briefly" in that sentence becomes all too appropriate.

Judging by the look on Leighton Meester's face, he's rocking a really soft jacket too!

Pure? What is this "pure" you're insistently appending to the word "boxer"?

I don't have kids and have never seen or even heard of this show, but I had to come and show my appreciation for the horror I experienced when I saw the graphic out of the corner of my eye and saw this woman's bloodied face and that guilty looking lizard.

I don't know where Number Street is, but unless they changed a street name in Flint since I moved, he might wanna save his Number Street homies a long ride in a dark bag.
