Hopefully we’re reaching the point where Step 1 in the problem solving process for Pokemon is just having the developers openly admit they don’t know how to do something.

Nintendo’s stance on modding is always gonna be shitty but at the end of the day it’s not the modding they take issue with nearly as much as the monetization.

Never said I agree with Nintendo’s stance. Just that they are very VERY clear on what type of videos they don’t want people profiting off of and this guy consciously and knowingly decided to put time and effort into making (and trying to monetize) those types of videos anyway.

Doing something “in the most literal definition of the phrase” does not mean doing it with maximum time/results efficiency. It just means that is literally the thing you are doing.

Depends on your definition, I guess. It was definitely successful with pre-orders and such. But within a week of launch it was “dead”. As in- no more sales momentum. No word of mouth driving sales. Most of the sales were the suckers tricked into pre-ordering it / buying it at launch and it’s overtly negative public…

I said OFFICIAL. If we were talking about fan games, Sega would be beaten to the punch by... as long as fangames and Sonic the Hedgehog have simultaneously existed, probably.

I don’t know, Papa Nintendo is the same guy who’s not bothering to update the struggling Switch hardware because it’s still selling millions of units every year. I find it hard to believe he’d look at a game like S/V that sold a bazillion copies and think there was anything wrong with it.

I think at this point, I’d just echo the common opinion that a new game that fuses the best aspects of Legends:Arceus and S/V and runs on better hardware would be ideal.
