The Super Paper Mario fiasco comes to mind as well. I’m sure that cock-up was egg on a lot more faces at Nintendo than his but in reading all the interviews and such it really sounds like he was the most instrumental in the decision to neuter the Paper Mario series as a result of that.

Just so we’re keeping track, in just the last year or so, amateur Pokemon fans have:

Well, yeah. That’s literally the entire point of the conservatism the right side is based on. Maintaining the status quo. Of course the richest people are going to be on the side that revolves around making sure that the people currently on top stay on top.

I think they need to develop an ounce of courage and try their hand at a Marvel movie that isn’t simply a bad guy showing up and doing something bad, followed by the good guy(s) having to fight the bad guy and stop them from doing the bad thing.

The fuck does Nintendo have to do with this? Or do you also think that every shitty Steam port is somehow Valve and Microsoft’s fault just by nature of it being on a PC?

I guess if we still needed argument as to whether or not Game Pass is bad for game sales, I can at least say from a personal standpoint that- despite loving the series- there’s really no way I can justify paying full new-release price for a Yakuza game when I’ve played the entire rest of the series through Game Pass

Maybe you’re using the wrong emulator? DKR should emulate fine on even low-end hardware.

Super Pro Gamer Tip!

Just a matter of personal preference, I suppose. A lot of people probably skipped MK64 (n64 was not a very popular console, after all) so Super Circuit might be just the one more people remember playing after Super Mario Kart.

A fair point, but assuming you haven’t purchased MK8 Deluxe and only have access to the NSO games, that leaves you with only Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64 as alternatives.

Kind of a toss-up. They’re both great stories.

Well I mean, Switch already has Banjo-Kazooie. It’s not terribly unlikely that Jet Force Gemini or Perfect Dark could also be on the horizon.

Yeah! Octopath was pretty popular at the time. A lot of people (myself included) really want to see games that look like that out of Square Enix again. I just don’t hear many people talk about enjoying any aspect of actually PLAYING the game or expressing the desire to do additional playthroughs or anything like that.

The modern-day monster

Octopath Traveler comes to mind. Absolutely Top-shelf OST for such a god-awful slog of a game. Regularly listen to the battle themes from it, wouldn’t play it again if you put a gun to my head.

It was honestly a nice effort from the people involved and seemed to harbour some real love for the properties featured in it. Sadly, from a gameplay perspective it’s never been able to move past just being “shitty Smash Bros.”.

Two years of intense corporate arguing, battles with the FTC and billions of dollars tied up in the matter

It’s Zelda. The appeal lies in it’s immaculate design and gameplay.

I know what you mean. I really want to play through BOTW again with all the graphical and performance improvements on PC but I’m worried that if I do that right before TOTK comes out, playing the new game on Switch is gonna feel really yucky.
