How so? I love my PC gaming as much as the next guy, I just don’t think their show is really capable of the “big-reveal” type stuff you see from the console press conferences.

Predictions:

It’s from a trailer for a game called Stalin Vs. The Martians. The game itself is basically just a bad, generic RTS, but for some insane reason they decided to parody Dance Dance Revolution for their trailer.

The game has some replayability and the definite potential for speed-running if you're into that.

It sold... okay-ish. 200 000 copies. To compare it to similar games on 3DS, it was outsold by Rune Factory and Harvest Moon by a small margin and Animal Crossing sold 1.5 million copies. So... it’s performance was less than stellar.

I could see them mixing FL1’s gameplay with this new Sim City/Farmville-esque element to... some level of success. I’m just worried it’s going to be totally bogged down by micro-transactions.

As long as it retains what made the first Fantasy Life fun and isn’t full of micro-transactions and “wait until the meter refills to keep playing” crap, it could be pretty great.

To be fair, I can see Fantasy Life selling much better on the mobile platform in the west than it ever would on 3DS.

It's really weird seeing a Nintendo-looking game with the X&Y / B&A button placements mixed up like that. I could see that throwing me off quite a bit.

"Faith or no faith- You will fall before my superior consoles, Sony!"

Bad games or no, He's still a huge money-maker. Sonic isn't going anywhere.

I think you're vastly overestimating the market for JRPGs on PS3/PS4. The genre typically sells like ass on consoles in general. There are a few JRPGs that sold... decently on PS3 but they're mostly sequels banking on an established franchise (The only original JRPG to even break a million sales on PS3 was Ni No Kuni).

Make games for Sony consoles? I think you meant to say Nintendo considering that JRPGs generally do much better on 3DS and The Last Story was the best thing this man has produced in a decade.

"Oh they want a female character who seems like a strong capable warrior and not a glorified sex object? Well obviously the only way to do that is to make a butch, masculine-looking, short-haired Russian because the only way to make a woman powerful is to have her resemble a man as much as possible."

The GDC Awards are kind of weird.

i really don't think Nintendo's reluctance to make games for consoles other than theirs is a "phobia" so much as a "smart business decision".

Toejam & Earl strikes me as something that was a product of it's time and won't translate all too well to the modern gaming world.

Am I the only one that only just now discovered that Elite: Dangerous was a space game?
