I like Night Vale quite a lot, but only in small doses. It is exhausting, even though new episodes only arrive every two weeks. I go months without listening, then binge while doing dishes, and find myself imagining the inevitable film or television adaptation (which I think would be fantastic).

This is absurd reasoning. The average person can "get this kind of exposure if they want it," you say. Good grief. Yes, but they don't.

It was well presented and a very compelling case. I detect jealousy.

I'm not convinced it could've been wrapped up in six episodes. After all, Koenig only talked to Don (Hae's new boyfriend) like, last week.

"All this show did was make a bunch of sheltered, oblivious, middle-class Americans feel very smart about themselves. Out here, stuck in real life with the rest of us, it was just another day in the courthouse."

Your piece about Serial mirrors your critique thereof. You started off well, and laid a thesis on us:

Good god. Sour grapes much?

She investigated one murder, over several episodes which were recorded as she researched. It's like a ride along with a crime reporter. I found it very interesting. Apparently this writer is much better than me, so she didn't.

Thanks for your reply. I absolutely agree that people can get exposure if they want it. Serial isn't the only place to hear about the shortcomings of our justice system and I don't think that was the draw. I already knew how testimonies could be influenced or how evidence could be manipulated but it still was very

Reads like something written by someone bitter that nothing they write will come close to being as popular as Serial.

"I know what it feels like to run out of reporting, because I have run out of reporting."

You could take all of the points that you made and apply them to everything. So according to Diana M., everything must suck because it's predictable and has already happened so what's the point of exploring?! People with otherwise unassuming lifestyles must sometimes resort to selling drugs to afford basic needs! The

It gave me hours of entertainment for free. Not that big of a waste of time.

Nope.

Ya. My wife's standard complaint is about how shitty people can just crap out kids at will, but we are good parents and treat/raise our son amazing and can't get/stay pregnant for the life of us.

You need a new life skills presenter.

Typing on phone. Not on drugs.

Sorry but the silicone spatula (I'm not using the dumb name) is actually quite useful. You're entirely wrong for ranting against this.

I honestly don't get why people get so caught up on "loose ends" in a story no matter what. Some stories benefit from them, some stories do not. The notion that every story needs to be tightly finished with zero ambiguity is absurd. Life isn't that way, so why should stories all be that way?
