I love Evernote. I like to joke that I keep half of my brain on the internet, and with Evernote in the picture, it may be true. I use it to store recipes, lists (to-do, shopping, packing, etc), notes and codes i need for other software and services, taking notes for work, helping my analyze and keep track of different

However, I’m not an ass, so instead I resort to using my roommate as an excuse to “walk her dog after her flight was delayed...much friendlier and believable.

I second this.

Software bit locker can have up to a 30% hit hardware bitlocker is only .5%. If the firmware is patched why would I want to switch to software encryption.

YES. I actually never let my friends use my phone to stalk anyone’s pages because I don’t trust them to keep their fingers off from liking something by accident.

But then you end up at EWR.

I’ve put this request in several times as well. The routine should be able to turn off the Google Home if it’s playing media and turn off the TV (Chromecast with Youtube TV and Google pictures.

Mine does exactly this. I used Shortcuts instead of Routines. I just typed in the words “pause music on spotify and turn off all lights” for a new shortcut. Works great every time.

I set up a shortcut for when I say “I’m leaving” that tells Google Assistant to “shutdown and turn off all my lights.”. I’ve attached a pic for reference.

The metric I use is if I can count how many times we’ve hung out, we’re not friends. Once I lose track, or its not weird to call, email, or text you, we’re friends.

Ohhh, nice!

So true, they really don’t even check if you have a room. You can just say you are dropping these off, ask if they can store them, here’s a tip, and you get a little tag number. Especially if you are arriving early in the day when everyone is still checking out of the hotel and no one can really check in they won’t

IF you have a hotel, they will stow your luggage before check in as well.

TIL that I get weather news from Lifehacker. How TF did I not hear this already?

So I didn’t watch the keynote, but how is this different from just using the translate app and a pair of bluetooth earbuds?

It Does! Here is a PDF explaining how to do that...

I use iHome smart plugs to run lamps at my apartment. I use the iHome app to do scheduled on/off times and to control them away from home. I use Homekit/Siri to control them while at home. Works flawlessly and I can jump in bed, plug my phone in to charge, and tell Siri to turn the lights off. Easy peasy!

This context might help: Tim is a CEO with hundreds of employees. He has an executive team that he trusts. He offers us a lot of autonomy. None of us needs daily input from him. I’ve worked with him for four years and I’ve never had trouble getting input from him when needed.

That’s why NW just laid off 100+ out of 480 it started with at the beginning of the year. Read the glassdoor reviews. A lot of people are unhappy with how he’s running the company. Great guy but has been indecisive on where he wants to take the company, causing many of us to feel that we’re aboard the Titanic. Not the

Hopefully he empowers his team to make decisions on their own to avoid the bottleneck of reaching him.
