I get my flu shots annually and am all for them, but this list almost makes me more nervous than less. Having so many positive things written about it makes me think that this read like a pharma-ad. Are there at least any negative issues with it that we should be aware of, to balance the article?

If I could, I'd edit out the couple of digs I took at Facebook, but my mobile question still remains.

Thank you Facebook, this is a very solid addition and a well thought of use case. I hope they continue to seek out meaningful and helpful additions like this instead of a complete monetization focus. That said, does this Safety Check apply to all Facebook mobile products? As in, will I receive this notification on

The off-contract options are crazy cheap when you BYO phone. Does the math work out to still being 'crazy cheap' if you have an addiction to the latest iPhone/Droid every other year, or does sticking with AT&T/etc. for the subsidy remain a good deal? (cough, like me, cough)

Sorry for the confusion, I love the Touch ID integration additions though too. I didn't mean that it's hard to pick out differences from older versions, I meant it's hard to distinguish feature differences between all four separate applications (ex- when you read their fact sheets, they all seem to quote the same

Now that the iOS 8 updates are all out, can we get an updated Lifehacker comparison between the password managers? KeePass is $0, 1Password is $10, Lastpass $12, Dashlane $40, and I'm sure there are other solid alternatives too, but aside from that and Touch ID integration, it's really hard to pick out any

Are there any blog posts about when PayPal will finally support 2-factor authentication with their iPhone application? Currently you have to disable it to login, or choose to keep it enabled and only use the web.

What a bummer, Apple has since pulled this app from the App Store and didn't allow the developer to release a new version with some bugfixes. Lame (http://al.cromulentlabs.com/thanks/)

Just like AirBnB, it's all about the individual owner that you interact with, but I've had good experiences so far. Plus, their website has an instant 10% off coupon, so you can't go wrong with trying it I suppose. GeekWire's website put up a user experience with them recently too if you google it.

In the US, I've used BoatBound (airbnb for boats) to rent locally, usually from families instead of rental companies.

For length of articles in Pocket, I use the service 'ReadRuler'. I'm pretty sure that's been covered once on Lifehacker before. The only downside is that it oddly doesn't always 'mark as read' after you finish reading from their pass-through link.

Not to mention audio transcription from the main apple keyboard, and not having that is a deal breaker for me...a very unfortunate realization today. It's like Apple is hobbling 3rd party keyboards, alas, hopefully iOS9 will fix that.

Swype is currently not working on a lot of iPhone 5's according to the reviews, so that could be an issue depending on your iDevice.

Hey Alan, building off of your line "They can integrate with your social networks to help you and your friends work out together—even if you're far apart.", are you aware of any running (or fitness in general) applications that allow you to 'virtually' train with or against friends? Nike+ allows you to setup races

I'd recommend giving this article a spin for different app suggestions: http://lifehacker.com/the-best-fitne… I use Nike+ myself, but just like messaging apps, all of my friends seem to use different ones. If you upgrade to a new iDevice (phone, pod, etc.), there are even more apps to choose from, but most

If you're being serious, how's that working out for you? I hadn't thought of combining my love of audiobooks with Zombie Run for a double dose of story telling...usually it's just one or the other.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but size aside, it appears that the comparison of extra features stands as the 5.5" phone (optical image stabilization, higher pixel density & resolution, better battery life, landscape mode) vs. the 4.7" model (all other features are on parity). I'm torn but will probably side with 4.7",

Almost certainly not, since of all the sports they listed (running, cycling, cross-training)... swimming wasn't one of them. I was hoping for the same, but even the 'sport' version doesn't list that feature, at least in the keynote. That said, there'll be plenty of time for them to modify/clarify that aspect before

Hey Matt, I love your blog and newsletter - long time fan, first time caller. Two questions: 1- How do I find out how long it will be before I can re-apply to a credit card that offers miles? For instance, I cancelled a Southwest credit card approximately a year ago, and would love to re-apply to open the account

It continuously amazes me that one of the big 3 companies (Apple, Google, MS) haven't already snatched up IFTTT. Granted, I hope they stay independent so that they continue to support all of my services, so here's hoping that they can make a living and stay indy!
