And Burn Gorman as a (probably quickly dispatched, unfortunately) bad guy! I just love him.
I loved the Drew Barrymore/Nancy Juvonen Charlie’s Angels series (still toting around the DVDs). But I can handle a remake for this type of series! I did not know this was coming though, somehow I missed it, and I went from “ew, remake, what?” to “YES, I’M IN” watching the trailer. Plus, Elizabeth Banks has pretty…
Just because one is slim doesn’t mean one always feels slim and confident. Plus, shapewear smooths/hides bits, bulges, etc. It’s gawdawful, but it can make people feel comfortable with wearing something unforgiving and wondering whether they can afford to eat and drink without spilling out of their dress.
Usually I hate this condescending question, but do you have kids? Because once you have kids you know that you worry about EVERYTHING. I don’t see anything snark-worthy in Wills’ comments. It’s still harder to be gay than to straight, and whatever advantage being rich and royal gets you is offset at least in part by…
So, this is a kind of common concern for parents of LGBT - and/or many ethnic minority - children. I imagine that some people use this “concern” as a troll for their own prejudice, but I also imagine that most parents don’t.
I don’t understand why William’s comment is a thing. My mom’s gay and I have a lot of friends that are gay and they all navigate life just fine, but I’d still worry about how my child would be treated if they came out as gay. Support them a million percent, but it’s my DUTY to worry about them. Knowing they’re…
You’d have to be some kind of moron to not feel this way and in a bubble to not understand it. This is actually a lot more than I expect from any royal. IMO the Queen has cred the rest might as well be mannequins all they’ve done is exist.
i find myself actively wondering if the author is a member of the LGBTQ community and/or whether she had someone on staff who is proof this.
I’m not sure what’s so wrong with what William said. I’m sure Meghan and Harry’s kid will face a ton of prejudice and bigotry, even from people within the aristocratic elite. I’m sure a homosexual child of King would have hell on his or her hands too. It’s tough being the first and people really aren’t as accepting…
I don’t understand this criticism of William’s response. What “unconscious prejudices” is Lauren referring to? Also, his kids’ wealth and privilege are going to protect him from homophobia? Really?
For dresses or skirts with really high slits...
Thank you for saving me the time of typing out an equivalent comment... and more elegantly than I would have managed, too!
Precisely. While nobody can deny that affluent white lgbt people may not share ALL the struggles that poor/poc lgbt people do, people who hate lgbt people hate all of them. There are random hate crimes committed against lgbt people, and the perpetrators don’t stop and ask about the victim’s bank account first.
What is happening with the shapewear, in addition to the no good, very bad name? Some of them are only one legged? Which cool if they were going for inclusive, bodies come in all sorts of legged-ness. But considering the name and that every.single.one of those models looks exactly the same, shape wise....I’m gonna bet…
I’m not sure I get the snark over William’s comments (beyond the legitimate discussion about the word “decision”). He acknowledged that the issues would be the result of society’s failures and that’s something we all need to work to change. Given the scrutiny Meghan has faced, undoubtedly in large part because she is…
The British tabloids are a goddamn nightmare so, uh, I kinda see his point. And there’s plenty of homophobic people who’d throw a fit about an LGBTQ royal. Just look at all the racist abuse hurled at Meghan Markle :-( And, uh, remember the role of the paparazzi in his mom’s death.
