Part of me thinks that it might have something to do with prepartum depression. It can be just as serious and mind-altering as postpartum can get.

If the NSA leaks have taught us anything, it’s that modern phones can be tracked whether they’re on or not, if the authorities feel like doing so. The battery can be taken out, unless it’s one of the new ones that can’t be opened.
Remember Scott Peterson. He was at the search gathering as well.
But the article says the baby’s father hadn’t heard from her either, which implies he’s probably not on the run or dead. It implies he’s cooperating and helping with the investigation, actually.
She might be dead (I really really hope not), but if she is it doesn’t seem likely the baby’s father was involved given what…
I understand where you’re coming from, but I’m hoping doctors don’t schedule c-sections without proof of pregnancy. So if she was indeed scheduled for one, she’s probably pregnant.
I didn’t want to make a maybe “she couldn’t help but wonder” joke, but I’m glad someone brought the levity.
Nope. Best practices for suicide reporting recommend not using “committed,” which sounds like a crime or, to religious communities, like a sin, and “kill yourself” is just insensitive, crude, and poorly phrased. “Died by suicide” is the phrasing recommended by mental health professionals and the American Foundation…
“died by suicide” has to be one of the sloppiest phrases I’ve heard in awhile. You commit suicide or you kill yourself. Suicide is a motive, not a method.
Oh he’s definitely a subscriber:
“And if you pause here, you can actually see his heart break.”
I can’t believe how inappropriate the school has acted, and is continuing to act, by telling people the kid has “bad character.” Look in the fucking mirror, dickbags.
My high school had a lot of goth & art kids, so I was not totally out of place at prom in my red and black leopard print dress, feather boa, and dog collar 😎
I had Chuck Schumer. Kanye would have been 100x better.
Ian MacKaye is the sweetest guy. I sent him my music in my late teens. He sent me back an awesome postcard full of positive feedback. Very straight & helpful advice that I still think of when recording. I love that man & I love his music. I kept the postcard with me in the various RV’s & cars over many years. My puppy…
I think it’s all about the culture of one’s school. I wore a 70’s nightgown I found at Value Village, my date wore polyester bellbottoms and a top hat. One of the very square girl’s mothers commented to me that I “ruined the prom” (?) by being disrespectful of prom dress conventions and I just laughed and laughed. I…
Sorry to hear that. We had Darth Vader. He was awesome.
NGL, Amandla and Jaden look fantastic. The silvery braids are killing it. Love Jaden’s gloves. I want to be them when I grow up.
I think prom, for lots of kids, represents a chance to show how conventionally attractive they can be. If my prom is in any way typical, most kids were less worried about being fashionable or unique than they were about being hot (usually by doing a kind of grown-up hyper-masculine or feminine style). I love that…
Kanye would have been a way better graduation speaker than I had. It was the head of Dish Network (what?), because I guess his daughter was in our graduating class. He basically just addressed “Kerry”, and how she would “always be [his] little bunny”, and it was such a pathetic waste. Of course, our university…
