At this point I don’t know how Wizards gets away with not having to register as a lottery - it’s so clearly driving a lot of sales

Here’s the thing — I like Post. He’s a talented musical artist, and I’ve never heard of anyone who has beef with the guy. He is apparently so nice, in person, that some people assume he’s faking it and/or on drugs because there’s no way anyone can be this nice.
Dude has the most unsettling and uncomfortable smile I’ve ever seen. He’s like a cryptid.
It was funny. But I’ll agree with The NSX[..] that this still reads kinda like “mom” discovering that artists sometimes draw lewd stuff of their characters.
Cool to see you guys are employing 68 year old Lutherans to write your articles for you now.
“Shut up and consume product” isn’t actually the win you think it is. No matter what your build is, the game has slowed down dramatically thanks to XP nerfs etc. Any build reliant on vuln, crit etc. has also suffered.
And then had to write a whole new article to correct it.
So you read the patch notes, wrote an entire article, then had to change the headline and do an “update” when it was pointed out to you that pretty much everything you originally wrote was wrong?
Well, the Blizzard press office clearly wrote these last two articles so...... no, they do not play Diablo 4. This absolute disaster of a patch and the deafeningly negative reaction to it just proves it .
In my years reading articles here I don’t think I have ever seen one that was more out of touch about a patch. Thought the headline was a joke at first. Yikes.
This reduces the grind ever so slightly between finishing the campaign and starting the endgame. The endgame grind of nightmare dungeons is significantly increased with this patch.
This is the exact opposite take from what I’ve read every single player complaining about. It seems this patch is actually designed to DRASTICALLY slow down the game. If you slow down the game, then you are increasing the grind.
What you wrote here is so fucking accurate to my experience with Kotaku and the Gawker sister sites. I have been coming here since I was a senior in HS and I am past 30 at this point. Luke was always one of my favorite writers, and seeing that staff photo is so sad. Even just from 2015, so much has changed on Kotaku…
And a video that follows you down the webpage... (On mobile anyway)
Let’s not forget the 20 rows of fucking Taboola shitposts at the end of each article, with a few actual links to other Kotaku pages sprinkled in to add to the confusion.
Same. Content™ to Generate™ Impressions™.
A few days ago i commented on some guide article about how this website sure has changed and someone replied “elaborate”. And well... now this happened.
I was just thinking last when reading an article of yours last week, “Luke’s still here.” But damn, I guess it truly is the end of an era for Kotaku now. I wish you the best in your future endeavors.
Every time you guys post that 2015 photo it hits me with nostalgia. Good luck Luke, thanks for all your great articles.
I sometimes say “pour one out for a Real One” but damn man, you were a REAL Real One. As someone who has been reading the site since the Dark Times of “Gabe Sightings”, every one of these farewell posts from those in the photo has stung, but this one especially.
Loved the writing, loved the shitposting, loved the art/c…
