On my old "Hate/Not Terrible/Good/Shell-Ferrari" scale: Hate.

Yeah, okay...I guess you've never read this one, then?

I happen to really like Motor Trend Classic, and I'm FB friends with Jonny and Jack. Wonder how I missed that fracas...

Alas, no. Sold it to a photographer in LA and heard it regularly terrorizes the canyons out there. Have a 1961 Lotus Seven Series 2 in a very protracted restoration right now...

It is indeed. Back from a long hiatus. Thanks for recognizing the screeenname...I was wondering how many of the old guard might notice.

Interesting that they managed to wrangle known Porschephile Seinfeld into this. Also interesting that they are pimping a halo car this hard. Ford's old "Pace car for an entire company" spot starring the GT was never meant to sell that car, IMO. This spot, I'm not so sure...

IMO, C&H was ruined by the whole pickup truck sticker thing (Calvin peeing on whatever brand's logo you found offensive.) Props on your Hesketh avatar, btw.

Unless you somehow plan to keep trading in your partner for a newer model, I think you'll find that "still pretty hot for her age" is like winning the lottery. Said the man who knows...;-)

Nice op-ed, Matt. I share your "personal reasons" for wanting Sloane in the Honda spot. Like Julie Delpy in the Linklater "Before" films, I'm sure Ms. Sara has aged gracefully....

Exactly. Even if she had merely been standing next to him in the museum (even though in the movie it was Cameron standing in front of the Seurat)....please please please let me get what I want...

I give it a B-. Would have been much better to rope in some of the co-stars from the film.

You're kidding, right? That's an homage to the shot in the movie where they bottom the faux California.

Been busy with life and work, but figured it was time to show my face round these parts again. Seven-less at the moment but that should change before Summer.

As an aging Gen-Xer with fond memories of this film (despite the replicar nature of hero car), I am looking forward to this spot much more than that VW crap everyone's been linking to on FB. I certainly hope he slips the garage attendants a fiver.

Kevin Lee IS Howard Weinstein.

This is just about the douchey-est thing I've read on this site. Wow.

FWIW, we spell Se7en that way when talking about Lotus-Seven inspired Sportscars (LSiS) in general because Caterham Cars owns the rights (purchased from Lotus back in the day) to the name Seven when applied to cars. It's just the way it is.

Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 and 330 America.

@zbeeb: Have you seen the new Grand Cherokee commercial? In comparison, this spot is a pale imitation.
