In my personal opinion it's fine to CHECK a text while at dinner to make sure it's not anything important, but replying to a text or god forbid texting someone out of the blue just to start idle chatter is rude as hell. It's one step removed from straight-up answering your phone at the dinner table, and when people

The only thing that boggles my mind about this entire setup is the amount of RAM, processor, and video power going into this setup to... run graphs.

@aka_bigred: You may want to re-read that article, man... "The 3M company even introduced clear duct tape for those times when you really want to repair something with duct tape but the DIY-vibe of good ol' silver tape just doesn't fit."

I remember when the Gameboy Advance SP came out, all frontlit but tiny and hard for my large hands to hold, I ripped apart my old GBA and put in a front-light kit without any real knowledge before giving it a shot. Had to dremel out a bit of the casing to make it fit properly, solder a few connections in, and needed

@Hlaode: Though the character was "Inspector 34" and Little Pete was trying to prove that the inspector wasn't perfect because eating wings without making a mess is the WRONG way to eat them.

On a personal note, does anyone who reads this site work retail and get a lot of this haggling? Because I know from my experience that, as a cashier, it's usually frustrating to be asked for a discount when company policy is that you can't change prices.

@venc: I actually found the recipe to sound good, save for the whole wheat tortilla, but that's solely because I can't eat wheat tortillas. They make me sick.

I once tried Kroger brand Parmesan cheese. Tasted like cardboard. Kraft actually tastes like cheese.

@El Tejon: I was thinking this same thing... even a cursory search before bothering to write the article wouldn't have been a bad idea.

Considering just how vastly I've seen the phone auto-adjust its colors based on the ambient lighting I have some serious doubts about just how well this app would work. I may try it out anyways.

@vrillusions: I was actually wondering about the Canon's Rebel class cameras and if they suffer from this same issue. I currently have an older Rebel XT and was thinking of upgrading to the new T1i this year (goodbye, tax return... I loveded you...) for its video capabilities, larger image size (hoping to print some

A little unintuitive to say that it requires MacOSX when it's an .exe file. I was thinking this was an upgrade for the OSX side of the computer based on the article.

@wilcoclahas: Yes, they are. I have all three copies of the original theatrical release on DVD. I would be one to destroy the old VHS collection of them, especially since my VCR "ate" the ending sequence of Return of the Jedi, one of my favorite moments in the entire trilogy.

The only things that really bother me when they're zipped or rar'd or using some other compression scheme is when they're compressed video files. You gain almost NOTHING doing this since they're already heavily compressed (even a 1GB video file typically loses less than 1MB when zipped, in my tests).

The @aol.com and @hotmail.com addresses only really bother me when they're on a business card for a BUSINESS rather than for a person. It's unprofessional when you have your own web domain and yet don't use it for your email.

The "subscription" notification service seems a bit silly to me... I haven't run across any other weather app that requires such a subscription to give you notifications. Though it's not as cute, I'd prefer the one-time $4.99 of TWC's "Max" version of their program which has notifications with no extra, additional

@Buster Friendly: not as far as my testing has shown. I couldn't get Netflix to play even with stuttering. It was a crapshoot to get it playing, and if I paused, rewound, or fast-forwarded it I had to start all over again.

You know, I'd like this new Boxee far more if it didn't decide that the "pause" button on my media center remote no longer worked as a "pause" button. I can't find any reference to this, and it still works perfectly fine with XBMC.

Is the citrus idea really all that smart for floors? I just imagine, even with the mop, that it'd take a good deal of work making sure there isn't a single trace left or it'd become quite sticky...
