Very true. Too much serious in the world, I guess, so people just go for easy stuff. Hey, shock value gets laughs, so I guess it's easy?

I worked with a girl once who adored waxing — in fact, couldn't stand not to. She waxed everything every week or so — arms, hands, feet, neck, head to toe. All hair had to be vanquished. And she loved it! More power to her — I can only wax in small doses.

Actually, I was just listing a few popular ones that might realistically be on the Academy's radar. And since the Academy appreciates large-scale projects that garner attention and run smoothly, The Avengers is easy to reference — an ensemble cast flick that made 99% of the fandoms happy, made all the money, and had

True. :)

Anthropologically speaking, sports, particularly combat sports, are just an analog for battle, with similar concepts and motivations. MMA also has specific rules and regulations, as do other sports. Admittedly the goal in MMA is to physically dominate the other person, but there are more ways to do that than simply
