A lady like that doesn't need your respect, tho. It's obvious she's got mad respect for herself. And it's not our business to judge her for trying to save her marriage.

Thanks for suggesting that, it's great!
I remember reading in a Stephen King story about the narrator remembering how his mother would hide their pot of lobster stew on the back porch when the preacher came calling. They lived on an island off the coast of Maine, and she was embarrassed to be so poor that lobster stew was all they had to eat.
Did she double dip at the end??
Pinche gabachos. 😑
I wonder if it wasn't the other way around; that the girls were abused by the teenage boys and this asshole got rid of the girls so that wouldn't come to light? I'm just speculating, and I have no proof, but wouldn't that explain why they couldn't tell DHS there was a problem?
If poor people did this, they wouldn't be given a chance to explain how they were victims. We'd see their mug shots and a story of the horrors these kids endured at the hands of them and the piece of shit they were given to. And we'd see that guy's mug shot, too.
"Re-home" and "forever home"? It sounds as if, in his mind, he and the wife were adopting pets instead of children. Disgusting prick. No excuses, he needs to go to jail for this.
I am so sorry you are going through this. Sending good thoughts for a speedy recovery. And gentle Internet hugs.
That is horrible. I'm sorry!
My MIL didn't come to my wedding. She lives two states away and said she couldn't afford the trip. Mr. S has six siblings. Only his oldest sister came. At the time, my feelings were hurt. But now, after reading your story, I'm thinking that she did me a favor by staying away.
That sounds like a problem in the developing rather than with overexposure or a light leak. (I could be wrong, though.) I had a friend ask me to take her wedding photos. I'm not a professional. Photography is a hobby and my equipment is just ok. But she insisted, because she loves my photos. So I relented, but…
Yes, God is telling her that her new MIL is a cunt.
Are you serious?! These cheap assholes deserve it, then! Who eschews an actual photographer (especially when they can damn well afford to pay for one) in favor of a teenager??
Right?! The early 60s photo of my mom and her beloved Uncle Raymond (he gave her away) is just like that. I remember being a child and staring at that photo of mom in her wedding dress and Uncle (looking a bit like Cesar Romero) in his tux, thinking I'd never be as drop dead gorgeous as my mother (and I was right),…
I'm in that boat with you, sister. same situation (and thoughts) here. Gentle hugs to you! 💜
A friend of mine met him once while she and her family were in LA. She said he was very nice. He chatted with them briefly, asked where they were from, and played with her toddler a bit, proclaiming him to be adorable.
I guessed correctly that the one on the left is the bride, because of body language. The others in the picture seem to all be leaning away from her. And even though the man behind her has his arms around her, she seems to be holding them there, as if it were her idea. And he seems to be trying to pull away. Also, the…
I worked in a photo lab back in the day. We all feared the negatives jamming, and it always seemed to happen to irreplaceable negatives.
I won't defend anyone thinking bacon-wrapped scallops are potatoes, yet I somehow ended up back in the grays after being out of them for months. I don't know who I pissed off. Super sad. :(
