I’ve spent time with declawed cats. I’ve also spent time with people who were missing the last digits of their fingers (accident). People can function mostly fine without the last digit, though yes, some things are much harder (writing). More importantly, I’m not saying this off the top of my head, there’s a reason

She’s a pro pastry chef and a published cookbook author who has worked with a number of national brands (Kitchenaid, Disney, Ghirardelli) in the past. She’s not some rando—she’s someone who the Food Network should have just hired.

The eclipse has already happened. Last I checked, Fletcher will receive $300k+ for medical expenses, and the families of the victims/heroes who died will be receiving 1 million+ in raised funds. However, I think fundraising for the girls had, until yesterday or today, stalled out at well under 100k.

Ok. :)

Like I said, ‘probably’ is right there in your quote. I do have an idea of how I think people would act based on their past actions. It’s just a guess, again like I just said, but I think it’s a reasonable guess.

I said ‘considering their actions’ — it’s a best guess that anyone who would sacrifice their life for someone’s well-being would be willing to stick up for their care as well. I don’t think it’s too far-fetched.

Alternatively, accusing people of having a white savior complex isn’t so bad, especially when the money raised here and historically in lots of other cases has disproportionately gone to white victims.

Did you consider it would be unpopular for a good reason? This man has a much better sense of the context of his actions than you do, I’m sure. I find it more than a little ironic that, considering their heroic actions, the two men who sacrificed their lives would probably disagree with your statement here, despite it

You realize you’re literally accusing one of the men who intervened—who, as this article states, was millimeters away from a violent death himself—of liberal naval gazing... while he’s still recovering?

In fact, most people would say trying to take action to solve all of your partner’s desires is probably unhealthy. What if she wanted to go to Paris weekly? Should he kill himself for that.

That’s fascinating about the church tie to politics. When I have a moment, I am definitely going to look that up.

Yes, in the case of cats they climb, groom, walk, balance, and defend themselves largely using those last joints. It’s significantly more physically impactful (debilitating) than a human having the last joint of their fingers amputated.

A lot of that is tied to medical tech breakthroughs, like sonograms and heartbeat monitors. Doctors (and more importantly, hospitals) began tracking fetal growth/movement/etc. more thoroughly as new tech was made available. Once people could see a “heartbeat” — and by the way, it’s not that simple, but it’s made to

This concept of finding the lowest acceptable level of comfort puts the onus entirely on Fairboxie to compromise. In your effort to find a common ground, you over-correct and go entirely to the other side.

Thanks, I checked out his post history. I think he might genuinely believe what he’s saying (even if he is way stuck on it). Since he was already in the black, I figured there’s no harm in responding in good faith, and I was in that kind of mood.
