Don’t forget data caps. Streaming tons of high resolution gameplay is a great way to hit data caps that came back into place once ISPs thought the goodwill of removing them during the pandemic had worn off.

This is the “nope, not happening” for me. My Internet connection is simply not reliable enough for cloud gaming, especially given that regular late-night maintenance and “when I’m awake” often dovetail and cause outages.

While I appreciate the fact that Sony allows you to use a regular old M.2 PCIE Gen 4 SSD, I can already tell that a bunch of people are going to buy the wrong SSD type thinking it can be used on their PS5.

I hope you bought a PCIE Gen 4 SSD, otherwise it won’t be compatible. And I highly doubt that you did because a Gen 4 on sale is usually around $160+

Those $100 drives won’t be compatible. The PS5 is going to require an SSD that is actually faster than the internal drive, and the ones that are $100 are like 2/3 the speed.

Good thing is that you can find M.2 drives for pretty cheap if you look. I picked up a 1TB drive on sale from Best Buy for about $100. The hard part is actually finding a PS5...

It’s quite an important word in the legal system. Cherish the knowledge, but pray that you won’t be concerned by one (on either side) ever.

Salt because they’re drying up all their potential business relationships with every company they do this to.

If that’s the amount of BR’s on Steam, 425 of them probably have a player count lower than 1000 players lol.

“It’s my understanding, for lack of a better word, Apple has salted the earth with subpoenas, so don’t worry, it’s not just you,” Judge Hixson told Valve’s lawyers during a virtual hearing yesterday

Yeah, I haven’t tried it a lot yet, just with Control... what makes me scratch my head is, that the processing effort to upsample Full HD—>4K takes less energy than putting the extra power to 4K directly. That’s magical.

That’s the point!
One is a high resolution, the other is a low resolution upscaled.
The fact that you can’t tell the difference means the DLSS is doing its job correctly, allowing better performance without reducing graphical quality.

They do. You just need to buy one totally overpriced as there are shortage thanks to miner and scalpers. The 3060 are already breaking the 800 bucks mark while being announced at 350.

cool, I hope they release cards that support this technology some day

yeah, digital foundry explains it super well. some small thin objects like hair, power lines, and text actually look even better. it’s really amazing. i really don’t like nvidia but until amd comes up with something roughly comparable i can’t see going anywhere else when i upgrade.

Curious what kind of clusterfuck behind the scenes must have happened to result in this situation. Fully expecting tales of massive assholery to come out some time in the future.

I look forward to Jason Schreier eventually finding out what the hell went wrong

Welp. I’m off to toss my bet into the “Bloodlines 2 is going to be the next CP2077-tier disaster” pile.
